Yeah this guy is not made for a traditional base. And as far as game play goes, well, probably the GW version would be easier to use. I plan on creating a Laketown diorama of Smaug facing down Bard for this bad boy. But with all its impracticality, how often in our lifetimes will we get the opportunity to paint such an amazing rendition of Smaug?

It really is that big. My best estimation is that if this model was fully stretched out, it would be about 3' long from tip of nose to tip of tale. And the details are fantastic. The molding wasn't perfect, so it took some time to assemble. But as you can see, it came together really well.

Yeap they fit well in LOTR miniatures scale. Give them a try - cheap and solid miniatures.

Is it even worth putting this guy on a base? I can't see how it can be done. The entire table fits well as its base instead!

Do they fit well in scale with the Lotr minis? I do want to make an eriador faction using them eventually.

Love this model and you've done a fine job on it. My favorite dwarf model, Thror looks very regal.
