So that means the soldiers are about $50 US? That's not bad, but the price for Dain being the same is kinda ridiculous.

How?

It's literally $5 more than current GW heroes from the most recent set and made of better material and has new basing.

Oops, brainfart. I saw "$80" and forgot that that was probably NZ or AUS. $50 US isn't too terrible.

Yeah I am pretty happy with those prices honestly. I've been pretty committed to getting at least Dain and a few dwarves but at that price I'd see myself getting a few sets of dwarves. I dunno about the balista, Its cool looking but i am not sure I can support PJs sillier decisions.. But at these prices I am excited for them to continue producing more. Super good news! I am bummed we have to wait another week to even preorder lol. I was hoping we could preorder this weekend and actually get them next week >.<

Any chance you guys got a peak at their profiles yet?

Andreas (chranos) did a video on them, but it's only on the Facebook page so far, not youtube (https://www.facebook.com/Spillforeninge ... p/?fref=ts, under the header 'rules for iron hills').

We knew the basis already - typical dwarf, S4, equipped with spear, shield and heavy armour (D7). Special rule is shieldwall, if in base contact with at least two other models with that rule, they're +1D. 12 points.

Ballista is accurate (3" scatter), impact has an area effect. No missiles can target anything in the area hit, nor can they cross the trajectory of the ballista's arrow (i.e. it blocks all arrows along its path). Moreover, it always heroic shoots, so unless the opponent counters, it will be unleashed before any enemy shooting.

Dain is a fightier version of his old profile, now with F6, S5, D8 and 3 Fate. Burly (two-handed hammer), fearless, bodyguard effect for all Iron Hills within 12", must keep charging once he killed his first enemy, causes terror when charging, can knock opponents (infantry only) down if he failed to wound in a duel (headbutt). Boar movement 8", D6 and two wounds. 140 points, 20 for the boar.

Rules should appear on the Forge World site within the next week or two.

Oh my lol. Welp, that's a little goofy lol. That's pretty expensive but raw o.o for Dain. I sorta wish he was a little cheaper, maybe not str 5? Str 5 and burly is a little gross feeling. I dunno if there needed to be 2 Dwalins lol. I feel like that will actually be pretty hard to build lists for them though, since everything is so expensive. At 500 you'll be hard pressed to take two full warbands. Looking forward to the Goats though too! Very exciting! Thanks for sharing.

Ballista rules sound very interesting. Looks pretty situational (like all siege weapons), but could be game breaking.

It's also super expensive but it does make your opponent have to come and fight you in your shield wall, which dwarves maybe don't always get. But I dunno when you'd actually take one. 700? 800? But you might just take a wizard instead.

Thanks guys! That new book hits all the sweet spots. I really like the non-movie scenarios, since I haven't read the books and such, but I find them so inspiring. Although Adam has some strange hate for werewolves, ask him nicely if he'd publish profiles for them and we can use the Forge World skin walkers as proxies. I've always liked those models. And I might just break the bank and order the Iron Hills dwarves; it is my birthday on Friday.

Now I'm off to find a Smaug proxy to use in those new scenarios!

I’m curious about the Gundabad berserkers. How do they differ from regular Gundabad orcs?

Speaking from a hopeful place not actual rules knowledge! ;)

Take a uruk and uruk berserker and that should be the rules!
Increased D, A and C! With higher pts as normal.

They don't have two weapons so I sorta hope they don't have multiple attacks, maybe give them burly? So they have a chance to kill iron hills dwarves lol.

That could work as the 3 models are 2 hand weapons and a 2-handed weapon!

Thanks for posting! It's great to see some new models for our beloved hobby!

The sculpts and poses on them look fabulous (except for the beard of one of the Ballista crew). I don't like their design though (which isn't GW/FW's fault), so I won't be buying them unfortunately.

Either way, great to see some support! :yay:

By the way, here are the rules!
