At least they saved the rick roll for the very end and entertained us with a fake trailer of snipits.

By the way, I created that video myself, and uploaded about 5 minutes before posting. I have seen a lot of fan made trailers for the Hobbit, but none of them use footage that actually has the dwarves, and Martin Freeman as Bilbo, and all that, just footage from LotR and other movies. I wanted to make one myself, but then got the awesome idea of inserting a rick roll in there too. I took the footage from Peter Jackson's blogs, though a lot of the footage included cameras, so I tried to sneakily cover these with google image trees, black shadows, and digital zooming. A third of the footage had greenscreen in it too, so had to remove that, and color grade the footage. I did it all in a few hours, and it was pretty fun.

And as already said, it was intended as a joke. If you look carefully, you can see crew members in the background with scripts in some shots, and stuff like that.

1.) Rickrolling is tacky.

2.) I had been trying to avoid getting my hopes up, just in case something got warped on the way from conception to final production. However: Having now seen some video footage, my hopes are definitely up. :D

Nope, he's a wood elf.

That's right, the dwarfs and the hobbit got rick-rolled deep into mirkwood.

I didn't mind too much since I enjoyed seeing the clips put together as they were. Very nice montage. And when I saw the Never Gonna words it somehow still didn't click right away. I was thinking it was going to be a humorous way for the trailer to introduce Gollum and the Ring ( get it ? ). Then HE came out...

Believe it or not,that was the first time I've ever been RR'd on my own. :shock: I've seen others hit when they were trying to show me something but I can no longer say it's never happened to me. :(
