Folks, the legendary sword-master, Bob Anderson who created the fight sequences in so many films we know and love, including Star Wars, Lord of the rings, The Mask of Zorro, and others, has passed away at 89 years of age. :sad:

Truly a sad day for us, he was the REAL 'Lord of Blades'. Who is going to live up to his legacy and help with the fight scenes for the Hobbit now?? :shock:

Rest in peace Bob.

I'll have to agree with IsleStaggerholm. But yeah he was on the project with the hobbit.

Don't forget Princess Bride for his credits! Some of the most enjoyable fights I've ever seen on film. And he was the real body in the Vader suit for the Empire and RotJ fights. Almost un-credited there, but the scenes would never have been as exciting if it was Prowes doing the fighting.

R.I.P Bob Anderson. He contributed a great amount to many films with his sword mastery and may he be remembered for years to come for those outstanding contributions to the film industry.

well if it's not a good place, then I imagine he'll sword fight his way to one. RIP Bob Anderson, one of the people I always wanted to meet.

R.I.P I'll remember him strongest for the lightsaber battles in Star Wars, he died a legend.
