tbh the price of the chariot doesn't bother me that much. If you do the math, you basically get 6 goats, 5 dwarves and the chariot itself. For 90 Pounds (2x45) you get 6 goats and 6 dwarves, so paying 10 extra Pounds to trade one dwarf for a chariot seems reasonable. The reason for the chariot being priced higher than other monsters, is probably that this Chariot consists of many small parts, which have to be sculpted from all directions or smth (not quite sure how this all works) rather than a few big parts.

So, I wouldn't expect new monsters to cost as much as the chariot.

Anyways, what are the odds of them releasing smth non-BoFA-linked (except Mirkwood) before Spring 2018?

Good point, I hadn't thought of it that way I suppose. I think it was the initial shock of the 3 figure price tag  tbh I think most of the new releases this year (based on the rumours) are the remainder of TABA. I'd love to see some new/revised LOTR stuff sooner but who knows? :)

I'm loving the iron hills so far, but can't say I'm thrilled with the new thorins company. As it was an older set that they don't seem to have planned on originally releasing, I'm just glad it's out. The crossbowmen are exactly what I wanted on the other hand as their crossbow are just like they are in the Weta book. The crossbars form the "tusks" which angle down instead of across. Weird design, but that's weta and Peter Jackson.

On a side note, I'd like to say I'm a bit tired of opening this thread to essays on price complaints again and again instead of opinions on the models themselves or even ideas for proxies. Can that go elsewhere?

Speaking of ideas for proxies, what models do you use for your spiders, Harfoot? I found some cool spiders from Otherworld Designs, but they're also quite pricey. I also really like the wagon from Otherworld. Maybe something to be used in a Rohan scenario?

I use the old GW metal spiders, even though they have a smaller base, and a guy i game with uses the ebob ones -

Warning on ordering from ebob, some people have had long wait times, personally i've never had a problem but haven't ordered in a few years and always found them great to deal with

I ordered something from a small company (won't say who it was, it wasn't related to minis). They didn't send it, so I started emailing them. The guy kept telling me he had just sent it out. He kept answering the emails so I kept sending them. And then he would say, "Oh I thought I had sent that out. I'll send it out first thing tomorrow". This went on for six months, and amazingly enough, one day I actually received it.

I didn't expect he would ever actually send it, I just thought I'd see how long the emailing would go on. I figured he was just trolling me.

:-D found the person who can afford forgeworld prices. Doubt your opinion will keep when the hobby collapse in on itself becusse the majority of its players can't afford much if anything.

So did you create a profile specifically to complain about prices.?

Since I kept the faith through our last "death of the hobby", I reckon I'll do just fine. As I'm surrounded at home by people who either enjoy the models or look for alternatives (full proxy Rohan army since he couldn't afford metals), I suppose we'll keep going through the next impending "hobby collapse." Luckily, you're somewhere else.

I feel like their source is getting the Battle Companies release mixed up with the Middle-Earth SBG release. I mean, I'd be glad if everything came out this year, but the slides at Warhammer Fest said Battle Companies late 2017 and Middle-Earth Spring/Summer 2018.

Although it does seem odd if GW is going to make changes to profiles and armies for Middle-Earth SBG to make those changes after releasing an expansion/supplement like Battle Companies.

For those who are unaware of that website, it likes to collect (or possibly just make up) anything even remotely resembling rumours to draw more viewers, as more clicks equals more income from ads. This particular one - as many are - is complete and utter nonsense.

Yeah, on Facebook Adam Troke said this rumor was completely false.

Unless the source is "Lady Atia" it's probably not true. She has yet to be wrong though, to the best of my knowledge.
