I guess it's nice GW is keeping on with the dragon cult idea they've been working with for so long. Still hoping we get an actual (albeit lesser) dragon in the Easterling list at some point.

As for the models, I am not supper thrilled with the design. The head looks kind of wonky with it being like a metal cap lashed to the guy's head by cloth. Would have preferred the proper Easterling or cloth alone. If I buy some I'll probably do a head swap of some sort.

I think they look great but agree could be better with a head swap. I am more pleased that we are getting new warriors to expand the roster though.

I'm not super excited about them, but I'm going to pick them up.

One of the things I've always loved about the Middle Earth ranges are that the figures are proportioned more realistically than GW's other ranges seem to be. These guys look a little chunky to me. Of course maybe that's what they are aiming for.

The stats for these guys are available on the pre-order page. Here is a link to the sheet. https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/PDF/Downloads/Dragon_Cult_Acolyte.pdf

They are pretty buy the numbers stat wise. Not any more expensive than the black dragon warrior with pike and shield. Not having any extra str. is kind of disappointing, but I'm glad they were given unyielding combat stance if only for it being cool.

I feel they would fit better ruleswise in a Harad list with Hasharin. Ninjas don't feel right in a Easterling list imo, since hasharin already exist.

Well, I thought I was going to order them, but they're already sold out in the US. I'm a little surprised, given my impression that Easterlings aren't an especially popular faction and that there's not a lot of pent up demand for these figures. But we haven't had a release for a while, so maybe that's it. Or maybe my impressions are just wrong. :)

Yeah, they were sold out in the US within 20 minutes of them showing up on the website. I missed my chance too.

Oh well, plenty to paint so there's no rush. About to finish my Gundabad army.
