no offence to anyone but i'd rather keep this thread for feedback on the project rather than email requests.

I know it is mainly my fault by hosting the supplement on freewebs which is fairly limited- but i'd rather not pay for web space per month just to host it. The main links to the website will be back to normal by the 4th of May.

If you can't wait that long the supplement may be downloaded from the following links for the time being;

http://rapidshare.de/files/17476371/The ... 2.pdf.html
or
http://www.savefile.com/files2.php?fid=3830160

If these links do not work or you have any problems please PM me. Any feedback you have please feel free to post :D

Thanks ;)

yer sorry about that :oops:

anyways back on topic.....

a great supplement, very detailed, clear and easy to understand. it was a joy to read.

if i had a hat i would take it off to you and to the other members involved in the making of this supplement, you have truly outdone yourselves guys :wink:

i would also take my hat off to you guys for finishing this supplement as you see lots of people saying there doing their own one but it never actually gets finished, the interest declines as time goes on. but well done for sticking to it and getting the job done with incredible results.

again, well done guys, terrific work :D

Some, I hope, constructive critisism.
A common fault with fan supplements - the margin is not wide enough to allow hole punching for binding.

A few errors in spelling (and please bare in mind I have not 'proof read', just a casual read) including Middle-Earth [Middle-earth] and Uruk Hai [Uruk-hai] and a couple more typos - but less than official supplements :p

Battle maps do not represent the boards proportions, ie a 4x4 board appears to be 6x4 on the map and could cause confusion, scenario one does not have a size - the first scenario. In one case the text size changes on page 20 for no apparent reason.

The supplement appears to be using ROTK rules instead of the latest set, mainly dagger armed models which are now classed as hand weapons, should these models be classed as unarmed?

The overall layout is good, the profiles and special rules balanced and the conversions great - love the hammerers. The modelling guides are great, nice and simple, easy to follow and looks good, the finished products could easily be used in other games. And the best bit is that you made the story understandable - overall great stuff and sorry for the nit-picking.

I don't think that the capital letters really matter, although I don't have the latest rulebook since I have the others, anyway a small thing like that can be modified yourself if you just need to change the effect they ahve in combat, I personnally think what I have read is done brilliantly, we can't expect perfection as this isn't their job, although your complains would be perfectly valid for any GW rulebook

I finally got hold of it yesterday.
I did have a few problems with the supp: there were many gramattical errors (lack of apostrophes, mostly) which was annoying to work out in my head, and I thoroughly disagree with your take on Dragons (they should be more powerful, for one thing).

However. I loved what you did with the Balrogs: They seem to me that they will be much more useable in a game. I also thought it fascinating that our designs for elven Lords (completely separate works) are nearly identical.
The division of the Houses was a master-stroke.
All in all, I thought it was an excellent piece of work.
Kandosii!

In what way should they be more powerful? Did you have any suggestions? I thought they were too powerful at one stage. I suppose they are fairly weak in terms of attacks because i wanted to represent the difficulty for a dragon to fight in combat- especially once surrounded.

Liked it alot, but there were a few problems with the Special Rules not being very clear. For example, in the Idril special rule, The Elessar, the specifications of hwo it works weren't exactly clear. But I still LOVED it, so don't take offence.

No offence taken :)

The Elessar; Forged by the jewel smith Enerdhil, the Elessar was a green jewel set upon a golden chain. It was said to contain the light of the sun and that those who looked upon it were healed from all hurts, as it would show things from their youth and when all things were good. Heroes in base contact with Idril, including Idril herself, are given +1 fate without exceeding their original starting value.

I can see what you mean- it should read;
Quote:
Heroes in base contact with Idril, including Idril herself, are give +1 free fate point per turn.

Hope this helps, anything else that needs clarifying let me know ;)

Thanks again

Andy

No worries about the grammar. My mom was an English teacher, so she's passed on a bit of her pickiness (though I'm still a lousy speller!).
As to the Dragons: Almost every time I've found Tolkein talking about them being killed, it is with a single thrust/arrow, so I think they should have only one wound - two at most for the very powerful ones. Also, being surrounded is no problem for a dragon - that's when he can do the most damage, because he just has to swing his gigantic body about and he'll smash everything around. So, I would give dragons a base Attack of 6 and make the Strength either 8 or 9, depending on how strong....
Aargh. This thread is about your stuff, not mine. Sorry for taking to the soap box. Anyway, I think you get the idea. :wink: Hopefully, I'll be getting all my thoughts together sometime to post a rules thread or something.

By the way, I thought the Special Rules had excellent clarity.

No worries- i did ask for your opinion ;)

Thats why I included the 'Huge Beast' rule;
Quote:
Huge Beast – using its size and weight [dragons are able] to knock down its foes in combat. If a dragon wins a fight it knocks all models to the ground - including mounts.

Which means if the Cold Drake wins combat he gets 6 attacks to wound (doubling the oringinal 3 attacks) unless the rules have changed from the Return of the King :? i wouldn't know :(

Thanks for your feedback!
