thrushs, the dwarves spoke with the ravens, crows are craven with the enemy, but you probably dont care its just me being a nerd... i like it but having 2 specials both for shooting seems a bit concentrated...

thrushs song- this hero is in the line of dale, sharing in their ability to talk to thrushes, using them as their messangers. if this hero has the rule roll a dice. on a 6 the thrush has fetched a man of dale, who acts as normal before leaving. he does not gain xp and does not join the company permanantly. on a 1-5 the man ignores the thrush, thinking it is just coincidence it being there.

what you think, its like the khand mercanery but a little less likely to happen. might change it to dwarf warrior though as man of dale is a bit lame. your thoughts? thanks.

I like this, Dwarf Ranger may be better than warrior, but maybe you can choose between Dwarf (randomly determine the weapon (1-2 two-handed axe, 3-4 throwing axes/shield, 5-6, bow/dwarf bow)) and man of dale

Tavern Terror

As the Hunters went to sit at the table with the other Dwarves, the door blew open, slamming against the wall. Khîm sat up slightly and muttered “it’s happening,” before slumping back into his seat. The Dwarves walked towards the door cautiously, where they realised there was no wind...

Good:
Silé, Baeli, Fáli, Dwóin, Khîm (no bodyguard rule, courage 3), Lóni, Fári and Flói
Evil:
8 Spectres (no Fell Light is in them, may walk through terrain)

To win, the Good side must protect the tavern.

The Dwarves glanced at each other. “Ghosts, or spectres. The Dead walk again.” Silé spoke slowly, his face grim. The Dwarves ready themselves. “Courage is the best defence you have now,” Dwóin told them. “Be brave, my friends. For it will not be our death, but theirs.”
The Spirits moved like smoke towards the Dwarves, one fleeing as an arrow flew through its head. As one the Dwarves spread out into a semi-circle, the wall of mist copying their movements. Part of the misty wall receded as one of Silé’s axes flew through it, creating a gap in it. The mist swallowed the Dwarves, draining their spirits. Fári collapsed in the ground, weakened. Silé’s axes whirled around, one of the Spirits disintegrating in front of him. Flói, angered at his brothers injuries, stabbed at the misty form he was fighting, smiling grimly as it vanished.
Two of the misty figures fled from in front of the Dwarves, who gave a heroic cheer. Khîm the Dwarf overcame his fear as the shadow attacked him, smashing his axe into it, inspiring Lóni into doing the same. The misty forms had vanished, and the Dwarves gave another cheer, before gathering around Fári.

Fári made a full recovery.
Good Victory – 4 Influence Points (total 7).
Silé increases his courage again (to 6), whilst Dwóin gains a wound.

The Dwarves rushed back inside the tavern, after helping Fári stand up, where Khîm knelt in front of Silé. “Forgive me, Captain Silé. I was wrong to despair. I, Khîm son of Kharm, offer you my service, and will protect you with my life against all who wish you harm. My duty is to you, my captain.” He stood, before bowing, and Silé nodded thoughtfully. Bowing to Khîm, he said “And I accept your service, Khîm, son of Kharm.” Fári nodded approval, before Silé spoke again. “Our duty now is to the people of this village. Bring them here, to the tavern, where we can guard them properly.”

Post subject:  Re: Silé's Hunters - A Shadowed Presence

A Shadowed Presence

Nári stood up, his spirits sinking. He could feel a presence, something sinister, something evil. Rubbing his forehead, Nári quietly woke Silé. “I can feel something,” he whispered. “It’s like fear, darkness even, is flowing through my blood, and I’m... frightened.” Silé nodded. “I can feel it too” he told the younger Dwarf. “A shadow moves towards my heart, and I fear... something.”

Good:
Silé, Baeli, Fáli, Dwóin, Khîm, Lóni, Fári, Flói, Nári and Ári
Evil:
6 Spectres (no Fell Light is in them, may walk through terrain) and the Tainted

To win, the Good side must protect the tavern and kill the Tainted.

Silé and Nári quickly woke the other Dwarves, before leading them outside the tavern. They could see the ground itself revolting before the presence of something they couldn’t see. Dwóin felt his limbs start to freeze, but shook it off, anger flowing through his veins. “Archers... Fire!” he yelled. One of the misty creatures that they could see dissolved as Fári’s arrow flew through it.
This time Dwóin’s limbs froze before he could raise his bow, and his shout got stuck in his throat. Three axes and two arrows flew towards the mist, but they seemed to go right through it.
A hissing sound alerted the Dwarves to the presence of the Rotten Shadow, as they rushed forwards, before they were swallowed up by the mist. Baeli’s axe spun, crashing through one of the spirits, which faded in front of his eyes. Nári watched in terror as part of the mist turned to ash in front of him. Flói and Silé also watched their enemies vanish like smoke as their axes spun fluidly.
An evil dart flew through the air, somehow bouncing off of Silé’s armour, before him and Khîm, found themselves being drowned in the last of the mist. Lóni and Flói leapt to defend him, as Nári and Dwóin leapt at the Rotten Shadow, both finding themselves wounded by the Seeping Decay oozing from the evil being. The shadowy blade flew through the air, and Dwóin collapsed in agony. Silé gave a mighty cry, giving Flói enough time to swipe his axes through the spirit, and it faded before his eyes.
Silé collapsed as another evil dart hit him, giving the Rotten Shadow time to attack Fári, who was defended by four angry Dwarves; Ári, Baeli, Khîm and Flói. Fári collapsed; the poisonous presence knocking him unconscious. Flói, Fáli and Ári all leapt at the Wraith, Fáli thrusting an arrow into the cloak, and the Wraith fled in terror.

Amazingly, Silé, Fári and Nári all recover from their wounds, whilst Dwóin remains injured.
Good Victory – 4 Influence Points +1 for points difference (total 12).
Silé gains a wound (2); Baeli increases his defence (6).

With the banishment of the Wraith, they felt the fear in their hearts and the unnatural presence begin to disappear. The Dwarves smiled and began laughing, carrying Dwóin inside with them, as the surviving villagers began to walk outside, into the streets, where small piles of ash could be seen.

Post subject:  Re: Silé's Hunters - Travellers in Strange Places

Travellers in Strange Places

Four Dwarves rode through the village on ponies, along with a pack pony. Children turned and pointed, before rushing up to the Dwarves, who rode through them. A small crowd began to follow the Dwarves, who were looking for a place to stay. They rode past the tavern and Khîm, who had been watching out of the door, leapt outside, calling out “Dwarves! My kin! Who do you fight for?” The four Dwarves turned around, and rode slowly towards Khîm, who they circled. “Take off your helmet, Khâzad Guard,” said one of them.
The rest of the hunters leapt outside, bows and axes ready. “I think you should reveal yourselves first,” said Silé. “Or your deaths will be swift.” The first Dwarf nodded, and pushed his hood back, two of the others doing the same, before the final Dwarf dismounted. He threw back his hood, and there, upon his head, was the helmet of a Khâzad Guard!
Khîm lowered his head respectfully and both the Khâzad Guard took their helmets off at the same time. Recognition suddenly filled both of their faces and Khîm spoke quickly, “Kúran, you found us!” The other Dwarf, Kúran, nodded, and he looked around at his companions.
“This is Lúfur, Fingol and Safur, we were sent out by our company to find you,” his speech was slow and purposeful. “We felt a fear start to grow when we came here, and then it began to fade again. It was most... mysterious.” Lúfur lowered his respectfully, as Fingol and Safur bowed.
“We have joined Silé’s Hunters,” Flói told him. “They destroyed the menace that was terrorizing this town, and we owe them our lives. Your welcome to join us.” Silé nodded his approval at this. “It would be our honour,” Lúfur told him, “but we must tell the others you are alive.” Fingol shook his head at this.
“I will tell them the news; you are free to join the Hunters. You would benefit from the experience they could offer you, whilst I will return to the company. You’ll need the supplies.” Fingol spoke whilst dismounting, handing the reins of his pony to Silé, who lowered his head as he took them. “I am the fastest traveller, and the oldest. I am weary, and wish for some Orc necks to hew.” He turned and slowly walked away.

For reinforcements I rolled a 2 (using influence to make it a 3), 4, and a 5 (using influence to make it a 6), which was followed by a 4. This meant I received a Dwarf Ranger with Bow (Safur), a Dwarf Ranger with Throwing axes (Lúfur), along with a Khâzad Guard (Kúran).

I love reading updates to your story. It isn't conflicting with Tolkien's works so I consider it to be canon. Tolkien himself said that he wanted his works to be added to by other people. Do you think a battle company would work in terms of using the Fellowship of the Ring? I.e. using their base stats but as time progresses they may gain an extra wound or special rule and individually their stories could develop. It would probably work better with Thorin & Company when the Hobbit range comes out (assuming that SBG rules will continue to be used for them) as the individual characters have a lot less character than the Fellowship of the Ring characters do.

Could you give the fill stats of the guys who no longer have the original stats.

It seems their number has grown, I bet the evil spirit battle was fun, and the dwarf's must have beenso happy with the usefulness of their heavy armour and natural toughness.

Thank you :)
It would probably be better with Thorin and Co., although you could use the basic warriors for the fellowship (4 hobbit militia (the hobbits), ranger (aragorn), warrior of rohan (boromir (no heavy armour remember), dwarf warrior (gimli), wood elf (legolas) and a shaman type profile (gandalf)

Thank you, it was very fun, the dwarves were most disappointed against the spirits, especially when they had the tainted behind them (courage 3 :(), although they did better the second time they fought the spirits - they refused to lose combat - Stat changes coming up

Ári is an Iron Guard, with ranger armour, 3+ shoot value and ranger special rule.
Here's the changes to their stats, the rest are normal
Silé: A2, W2, C6, Favour of the Court
Dwóin: F5/3, W2
Baelli: D6, A2, W2
