After a brief detour in spider country, my look at the Return of the King journeybook scenarios continues with #2, Ride of the Rohirrim.

On to painting up the troops for the next one...

Nice work mate.

I would like to know what you did for the bases they look nice but not complex and don't detract from the paints on the model. What is your method?

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

@Wan Shi Tong, the bases are pretty simple. Just glue down some fine-but-not-too-fine gravel/talus, stain it with watered-down brown ink (I use a maybe 1:3 ratio of ink to water), then brush on some white glue and sprinkle on some flock (ground foam). If I'm feeling really ambitious and then sometimes add a bit of static grass.

For the bigger bases I sometimes glue down small foliage clumps just to add some interest.

The results aren't going to win any awards, but I'm happy with how it looks and barring the pauses for drying time it's pretty quick to do.
