My seven month journey through the not-so-new-anymore Scouring of the Shire book comes to an end with The Road to Rivendell. Drop on by if you'd like to see whether Bilbo makes it safely to Imladris, and/or if you'd like some brief thoughts on the book as a whole.

Now I've got the pleasant decision of figuring out what to try next!

Awesome stuff Dave. Congrats!

What about the Quest of the Ringbearer?

Thanks, perry_pug.

Can't do QotR until GW actually release it (and start accepting orders again).

I think you definitely got your money's worth out of that book! Do you have any interest in re-visiting any of the scenarios or just looking forward to what comes next?

I really enjoyed that, thanks!

"given a no-Might enemy, the one-Mighted man is supreme" is definitely true ;)

I do have the old SotS book stored up ready to go, and nearly all the models (albeit unpainted yet) but am prepping for the Journey Books first, but your blog posts are really making me look forward to it :).

Thanks guys!

@Mapper, I will certainly come back to these scenarios at some point, if for no other reason than to compare play-throughs. But I'm ready for a change of pace in the immediate future.

@slinky, I don't think you'll be disappointed even with the old SotS. Prior to the recent deluge of books, that was a lot of people's favorite supplement.

This was another fun read and the picture at the top of the battle report is really nice! I like the idea of Bilbo as someone who both needs to be protected and is kind of a marker as to how well the two sides are doing. This seems like it was a fairly well-balanced game and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. I look forward to being able to play this scenario many months from now when I have built up my collection enough.

Your thoughts on Scouring of the Shire as a whole and whether it replaces the old supplement is much appreciated. I was thinking about playing through the old scenarios and rules one day just to see how much fun they are and what you said here only encourages me further.

I look forward to seeing where you go next in MESBG. The world is your oyster as they say :-D

Thanks Kuribo! I'm still not sure what's next. I've been playing around with my Age of Sail ships we mentioned on another thread while I wait for inspiration to strike.
