Well, I had my doubts about this movie due to the deviances from the information given in the appendix its based off of. But that trailer suggests that the film might be as good as THfG. We'll see! :)

Well, I like what I have seen so far. Well done to them for managing to put together something that has the right sort of look and feel about it. :yay:

Last year on TLA the feed back on born of hope had been quite negative. No one really seamed to expect much out of it. But it doesn't look like it turned out as bad as many had expected and I'm looking forwards to it even more.

I'm enjoying these fan based films that have been coming up. It looks like it has the potential to be better than THFG. The cgi on the troll is remarkable considering this movie's humble origins. I'm sure i'm not the only one looking forward to the 1st!

I've got a lot of cruddy things starting on the 1st at school, and a lot of projects due around the 1st, so this will hopefully make that day a little better.

Or else... :-X

You double posted Dorth.

Trailer looks good, I'm definitely watching it when it's released.

Good job to the producers. 8)

Yes, only a couple more hours. :D

Only a halve day school, nearly no homework, wonderfull weather and a nice movie. :-D
my day couldn't be better.

Il make a post when I've seen it, the new trailer looks very promissing.

Edit: just saw it :D , it looks good but they could have done better.
Especially arador lacks character imo.
and in the books arathorn gets an arrow through his eye, here he's stabbed in his eye.
But it's a very good movie.

A decent addition to the LotR franchise. To be honest I initially found it a little slow in places, but was really feeling the emotion toward the end of the movie so the actors should get credit for that. Nice to see Elrohir and Elladan get a run out too.

Meh, it was alright.

The film completelty filled all the assumed problems I thought I would have with it--Kate Madison elevating her role in the movie, females fighting as much as males, poor story progression, deviation and too much additional material from the original story, etc. Then again, when an amazing fan movie like TH4G is the precedent, the viewer may want to lower his or her standards a little. But BoH did pwn with thier CGIed troll compared to TH4G's Gollum :yay:

Did anyone besides me and ukfreddybear watch it?

I did. They did a reasonable job but their clothing was a little bit too clean. They picked a difficult story to make into a movie but did fairly well. I must agree that th4g was quite a lot better but born of hope wasn't too bad either.

Yeah, perhaps a little disappointing but it was nice to see Elrohir and Elladan. :)

I just saw the film (didn't even know it was already finished, untill today) and I quite liked it.
Though some things annoyed me, like the constant and unnessecary narrating, at times bad acting and those moments when something happens and a character immediately jumps to saying something prophecy-like which makes you go "huh?". the sword fighting was a bit too "hold-out-your-sword-and-spin-around" for me.
Then again, I really liked some of the characters, mainly Arathorn and Elladan & Elrohir (so glad they weren't douchbags) (and Elgarain: rawrrrr ^^).
