Technically speaking you are correct. What I meant to ask is how many were not explicitly stated to be killed. So?

1 - Lungorthin. He was named as a Lord of Balrogs but he no other information is given about him IIRC.

4 could be left, only 3 are confirmed dead. 2 at Gondolin and 1 in Moria are dead.

Name 4 characters, each from a different race, that was in the Hobbit movies, but never mentioned in the book.

Tauriel - Elf (made up: also could add Legolas as a non-mentioned character, or Galadriel for the same reason)
Yazneg- orc (so both Azog and Bolg were Tolkien characters, although Azog was mentioned posthumously only. I *think* Bolg appears in the Battle of the Five Armies chapter. Yazneg was totally made up for Jackson's film)
Frodo- Hobbit (not mentioned, obviously, but brought back by jackson as yet another nostalgia kick)
Witch King of Angmar - human...ish (never mentioned) but included for the morgul blade MacGuffin).

Bombur- Dwarf... well, he still hasn't SAID anything, has he!? :P

I wish they made werewolves, and better yet, if they made Sauron in the shape of the 'greatest wolf that ever lived' form he took (even though that failed). I think it would be cool. I though for sure Huan would have to kill himself in order to be killed by the greatest wolf.
Was a good question though.
