You could re-invent the Arnorian warriors, chainmail clad with a related symbol for shields etc

The GW elves are lacking, this will be brilliant to see, cannot wait!

I think I've settled on some Dwarf Warriors first. I'll only be doing 4 or 5 but they'll be made with arm, head and torso swapping in mind (multipart but cast as one piece).

Few quick shots of the 40k zombies, still to tidy up a few things but they're 99.9% finished.

Next project is some LOTR inspired and scaled stuff. I've started the armature for Turin from the cover of Children of Hurin, he'll be by warm up and test mini.

Those zombies are great :) They'd definately have some place in some post apoc games. As for brainstorming what to do next - perhaps civilians(for 40K/modern-day wargaming) or villagers?

Can't wait to see Turin though!

Those zombies look brilliant! Great sculpting and I can see more obvious improvement in your sculpting! Keep it up!

Wow, those new 40k zombies are ace. I really like them. The only thing I could becritisize about them is that the poses are just a bit static. But seeing you advance in sculpting with every new model you sculpt, it shouldn't be much of an issue.

Here's my first quick pass at Turin, plan to do him quickly at ebob scale then see if I need to do him again at GW scale.

This is just a first pass I might do him again, the chainmail is fairly rubbish but i'll get away with hiding the worst bits with his cloak and a well placed scabbard.

Not too happy with how this is going but it's teaching me a lot about this scale. About to glue up some armatures and get them ready for some putty !

I like the pose that you've got on him. The only thing I'd really complain about is the quality of the chainmail as it just doesn't look genuine. Have you got anything planned for the feet as well? As they still look a little too bulky.

Keep it up mate!

Yeah I didn't even bother with the chainmail and the boots need to be a bit flatter and pointier. This was just a test for the scale, I'm not even doing any more on this mini.

I learned a lot from it anyway !

I love the work on the cloak however the boots look a little clumpy for an elf, are you going to make another attempt at this pose or try another model?

Not sure I'll try this exact mini again, quite dull, there's way better things to make.

I'll be using ebobs puppets to maintain a scale. This is a cool pose I'd like to try again though I have a few even better ones in mind.

You are coming on in leaps and bounds.

Are you planning on doing all the options for the (now defunct) L&tD list?

Probably not, I don't really use GW army lists but in this case it was just a rough guide. My site explains a bit more, the Mutants and their tutorial page are 80% done: http://www.iceswordstudios.com/
