What you saw in the shop was this thing:

It's the new Living Card Game, which means something I am not entirely clear on. Something involving non-randomised packs. There appears to be a basic game and various expansions along the way.

There have been two other LOTR card games, one by Decipher and one by ICE.
The Decipher game can be played online here, as far as I can tell:

And the ICE one here:

Check out the card previews for both, some cool images there.

And then Aragorn standed as leader of the good forces and witch king for the evil. And they fight bagan.
They were fighting who would draw first his card.

This game came out very recently.

My brother bought it.

We've played a few games. Quite fun. Its not really competitive but is more of a Co-op game.

They are gonna be releasing expansion packs every month for a while.

Each expansion pack will add further quests which contributes to the story. (set between The hobbit and lotr)

The game can be played with 1 to 4 players. I think it is mainly meant to be played with 2.

I would recommend this game. Its good.

You can't play online anymore. They lost the license (hence the new card game) and shut down their servers. Deciphers game is REALLY fun. You can play with several friends, and I've found it's best when played with 3-4 people. Only 2 people, not that interesting, 5 or more, gets really slow.
