Hey everyone,

Long time collector but inexperienced player here with a couple of questions we couldn't readily find an answer for in the rulebook. I hope someone can clarify this for us. :)

We played the Attack at Amon Hen scenario from the main Army Book, page 221. In the scenario special rules, it states that hobbits that get killed, instead regain 1 wound and should be treated as being under the effect of the Paralyze spell. Once they are paralyzed, they can be carried as Heavy Objects.

What happens when they wake up by rolling a 6, as you would with paralyzed models? Do they start in base contact, prone, with the uruk(s) that carried them, and thus in combat, preventing them from ever escaping? Or do they start prone, but with their bases no longer touching the uruks, and thus not in combat?

Thanks in advance!

Rueben

I'm not too sure about this one. If it were me playing, I think I'd have it that the hobbit starts in base contact with the uruk carrying him. Though I would not count either model as having charged (ie moved into another), so I wouldn't treat them as being in combat. Rather, I'd apply the rules for when a model starts its move inside the control zone of an enemy to the hobbit and force them to either exit the control zone or charge.

It's such an important detail... Thanks for your take on it, we'll probably play it like you suggest. :)

Any other input by anyone else? We're replaying it tomorrow!

I'd say the hobbits start 1mm away and standing up. I'd go by the Rule of Cool in situations like this; the hobbits having some chance of escaping, if only for a turn or two, is more fun and "historical" to boot.
