Hey everyone. I want to put a few Black Numenoreans into my Umbar force. How do you all use them? I've heard they make a good front line and are also really good at carrying banners and not being sniped out of a warband.
Also, any good proxies? The GW models look a little silly. Thanks!

This has been discussed a lot in the past. Yes, they are a great front line force. Heavy armor plus terror? Yes please! In regards to proxies, personally I would go for a historic vandal look (basically vikings with black hair as opposed to vikings with blonde hair). Finding a black numenorian proxy is hotly debated. Another option would be to paint a bunch of regular numenorians in a black color sceme.

Currently I'm doing lower point games and I usually use a solid front line of reavers supported by vollies from Arblasters and Corsairs with spears. I just heroic move my way up the board then crumple any opposition. That usually works well.

If you are looking for a proxy I would use some of Warlords historic figurines they scale pretty well to lotr miniatures.
