When running Durin's Folk what ally works best with them?

Is it a particular hero? Is it another race?

What have you seen teamed up with the dwarves that seemed to work well?

I've used Erebor and Durin's Folk.

And DF with Arnor.

What units are a nice addition for the dwarves?

I've done well sending Grey Company, wood elves and Rivendell. But I also used to send Radagast too and he always gave a good account of himself with dismounted horsemen or making my dwarves terrifying.

Durins folk and Erebor or Durins folk and any Elves.
Defense 7 front line with fight 5 Elven spear support is brutal.

You can also ally Dale or Laketown. I like Laketown better for many reasons.

Overall elves are definitely the most lethal with them.

Would you use a Stormcaller with Nature's Wrath to lead the Elf Spears?

That would be pretty evil.

When you say Laketown, what would the reasons be? Alfred?

Cheap spears?

Durin's Folk lack cavalry and spear support. Any force that can provide those kind of reinforcement should work.
Ghan-Buri Ghan and his warriors may be good. They all have spears and blowpipes, so you have a second line able to shoot, and they count as wearing elven cloaks, so they cannot be shoot down by archers while supporting dwarves. They are only fight 3, but since Dwarves have axes you won't be able to feint and you'll keep the F4 anyway.

Radagast or Saruman are excellent to deal with cavalry with panic steed and blast and also good at keeping monster at bay. Raddy can perform magic while hidden, while Saruman can basically cast immobilize and command on the whole battlefield.

Just saying OP I played Erebor and Mirkwood today.

D7 front line shields with fight 5 spears caused a lot of trouble for my opponent.....and I can shoot from behind them as well.
