Post subject:  UKFB's WIP Thread - Gundabad Update
Well I haven't posted anything creative up for quite a while so I thought I'd bring you all up to date.

A while back I sculpted my own Bear, and I wanted to give him an opponent on a mini diorama.
The Warg Chieftain is an excellent mini and a fitting nemesis for Beorn. The base of the diorama is an old empty CD case - the plastic type that contains about 25 CD's. The surface was given a putty base before adding the slate rocks and twig tree. It was then given the usual basing of sand and static grass.

So that's the diorama - Defender of the Carrock.

My next update will cover my avatar pic and some terrain pieces I'm working on.:)

Or perhaps BjornBear is saying "Here boy! Heeeere boy! I got some tasty goblins for you!" A very well sculpted BjornBear at that. And a very well sculpted Bjorn. Not to mention the Warg.

A very clever lesson in how to get two dioramas for the price of one! Great work on the sculpting and the conversion and your paintwork is pretty good too!

That is very nice!!
I especially like the Goblins being tossed to the side like so many dawrfs.

OOps we are not supposed to speak of tossing dwarfs are we?

The warg is very nicly painted. I can't paint for toffe or marshmello but I think the Beorn figure is very nice. I especially like the thought you put into his garments. I like the obviose stitchin lines on the skin clothes.

Really very nice. and the face looks great too.

Well done... and most of all thank you for sharing it with us.

The thin leaf shoots fit into small holes on the rear of the model.

Wow I love the Lindens face! GW totally screwed up their ent faces (apart from Treebeard). The small details really enhance the model, like in the 5th pic you can see the bark has grown in different directions, love it! :)

That’s an impressive piece of sculpture. As lorderkenbrand said, the details are stunning. This tree must be, what, 4inches tall? I’ve tried to do some sculpting myself on one of Rivendell’s statues. I used ordinary modelling clay. I made my statue twice as big but even then I was struggling with every detail. Your work is very inspiring Dave! Already it has kept me busy for two weeks… :) I’m going to watch you(r artwork) closely, see whatever skills I can worm out of your articles. You might have pushed me into a new direction…

Again, most impressive!

The tree giant is really characterful and will be a great addition to the range. Can't wait to see it assembled and painted, marching off to war with the Birch Tree Giant.

Yes that is true. But this chap had been sat on my workbench for six months waiting to be finished and I started him in green so just carried on. I now have about 1 inch of GS ribbon left to use up before it's gone for good.

This particular model is 80mm to the eye, which is about 4mm higher than Treebeard's eyeline.

The next Tree Giant I will produce will be Ash, then Oak. Beech, Fir, Rowan and Willow still to follow, but I haven't decided on the order yet.

Next sculpting project will be some statues for Paul F's Minas Tirith Terrain. :D

Oi! Some of the rest of us could be doing with statues of a certain genre, especially a large mounted king, suitable for placement in a certain courtyard immediately to the rear of a Gate, know what I mean?
