I don't think I showed a pic of the troll skinning process so here he is, followed by the final painted pics. I hope you like him :)

Beautifully executed. I never cared for the design (the lack of legs/eyes is just ludicrous to me), but you've done a great job capturing an iconic creature from the Hobbit movies. It almost looks like a still form the movie in the battle shot above. Great work!

As crazy as the concept for this is I love it, it looks like it has just been plucked right out of the movies.

Lovely pictures of this unusual subject. Is the headbanger troll up next (the one who breached the wall?)

Hi Dave,
I didn't like the Troll very much in the movies, but seeing this conversion I think he is actually pretty cool. The conversion is top notch as always, also a nice paintjob!
Best wishes,
Bennet

I don't think it will be the catapult troll next for me, although there is another I am looking at. In the mean time I painted up one of the new Ash Tree Giant masters. For those interested here he is in the middle compared to both GW generic Ent incarnations.

When this is released, I'll be ordering it and a Linden "Tree Giant," so I have them all!

Wow, that troll looks amazing! While I wasn't a big fan of it in the movies, you did an excellent job of capturing it. 8)

Nice work Dave, always find your stuff interesting and finding that gap that GW missed. Troll is my favourite.
Ive just got one of your Azogs to work on, another nice piece that I will look forward to working on.

Nice sculpting! 8) I'm assuming that is the troll that breaks through the wall?

I wonder what they were drinking when they created those comedy trolls.
Nice job on the sculpting tough.
