Like the original colour scheme of your castellans. I need to come up with something original for mine.

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been a bit busy cleaning and rearanging my work area, but I have done some painting too. I've almost finished my goblins, and have started on some Morannon orcs as well. I don't have any pics though because I had to move the place I usually take my pictures and haven't found a good spot to take any, so I don't know how long it'll be till I post some pics of my work  :(
But on the bright side I just ordered my first Citadel Finecast miniatures today. I decided that since my bad guys already outnumber my good guys by a lot, that I should get some more good guys, and I wanted the ones that I think should look really good in finecast. So I got Elrond and Gil-Galad, and a couple paints too :) I should be getting them in a few days, so stay tuned to hear my opinion on Citadel Finecast.

Well, I got them early this morning(I love how fast GW's shipping is! It took like, two days to ship) and I have to say, I'm quite impressed. I really like them a lot. The detail is nice, and the edges, especially the armor, are very sharp and defined. There was hardly any flash on them and the flash that was on them can just be pulled of and leave a smooth surface were it was. I couldn't even find the mold lines, so the clean up took less than five minutes. The only downside was that Elronds sword broke off , but that's nothing a bit of super glue can take care of. All in all, I'm very happy with Citadel Finecast, and I hope to be getting some more soon.

Nice work on that castellans of dol guldur. The red and gold touch is very good. I think it will look good with easterlings. Also love to see some unpainted pictures of finecast.

That's a nice scheme on the Castellans, much less bland than mine, or GW ones.

Sure! I'll see what I can do. I've already almost finished painting Elrond, but I haven't got any paint on Gil-Galad so I'll take a couple pics of him unpainted for you.

I finally found a place to take pictures, and I've got some pics to show you guys.
First are the FINISHED knights of Dol Amroth(Yay!).

I also gave my nmm easterling a bigger base.

Now for the finecast miniatures. First, Gil-Galad unpainted.

Second, Elrond.

I'm also working on the next batch of Morannon orcs, but I only took a pic of one since it's a bit hard to take a picture of eight mini's at once.

Sorry if the pics are a bit big, photobucket being bothersome again. I hope you guys like them!

Your SKoDAs look ace! Nice to see a little variety on them. Elrond looks really good, as well.

The NMM easterling and Elrond look great. The latter looks really realistic. Are you leaving his base like that or are you going to paint it and add some static grass?

Thanks for the comments. I really enjoyed painting all of these figures and I'm glad that you guys like them.
@Red Corsairs, Yes I will be painting and doing other stuff to Elronds base. I'm just not quite sure how to go about because he's an elf, and I haven't done many bases for elves, but I would think they would be scenic with a nice variety of colors. We'll see what I can come up with

Finally another update! I've finished the morannon orcs, and Elronds base. I've also done some more work on my warg riders, but I haven't taken any pics of them yet, so you'll have to wait until next time to see them
Here are the orcs.

I'm not sure I really like it, it looks, I don't know, wrong. Any thoughts on how I could make it better?

I also wanted to ask what people didn't like about my last two miniatures that I entered in the last two competitions, and what could've been better about them. Also what I can do to improve my painting.
thanks and enjoy!

I would say it's not your painting that made me not vote for you, it was the fact that (in the last one at least) you didn't have lurtz, and I guess maybe this is unfair, but I probably won't vote for a figure that's not the exact right one, unless there's something really special about it. (Maybe a new paintscheme, or macg painted it, or a cool conversion with a good paintjob.) The uruk-hai last month was well painted, it's just that there were so many well painted figures, Lurtz's even, that I had to weed out the non-actual figures as other wise I couldn't have decided at all.

So, I think having the actual figure would help. (though I know that can be hard if you don't already own it, and you aren't wanting to go buy it off e-bay.) To me getting votes isn't the biggest thing, I sorta doubt that I will get very many votes this month with my ent, as their are so many great monsters being painted that can have brighter and more interesting paint jobs. But I don't mind, it's just a way to share my work with the comunity, and get some good tips and advice, as well as trying to paint something to the best of my abilities. :)
