To follow on from Ellorindar, and this is going back some, will these chaps ever make an appearance?

Would be a nice addition to the force :)

I'm not currently up to speed with Anvil Industry, they are super busy after a successful kickstarter and it's likely my sculpts with them will be phased out over time. There's little chance of them taking on further sculpts form me: they have their own range to progress.

In many respects my sculpts on sale with them were simply a leg up to help them bring in income and promote their name. Now that they're more established they don't need the MOTN stuff.

Once I get the signal that they are discontinuing the line I will get them remastered and on offer in metal. It will likely be a kit with axes and the spears included as hand options.

Fair enough, thanks for replying on this point. I've spoken with anvil recently and they said they had a new mold and would be back in stock soon of the normal shield models. As I said, I'm looking forward to investing in some to join my wotr dwarves. Maybe four companies :-)

Just a note on the lore of the fallen dwarves, as far as my studies on Tolkien have revealed, there are only two (?) Instances of "evil" dwarves - the petty dwarves that Turin meets at Amon Rûdh, and the dwarves of nogrod who slay Thingol for the silmaril. I will be using these as the lost dwarves of Nogrod, as I think they're appropriate for this :)

Well this is good news for me as they'll make an excellent addition.

I'm not too hung up on the canon to be honest, I've read everything (even that 12 book anthology with all the notes and draft versions that came out years ago). There's mention of Dwarves fighting for the Shadow... but that's practically all it says, very nearly a one liner.

These Fallen Dwarves are LOTR in scale only, I'm not trying too hard to shoehorn them into the game/mythology – I have my own mythology.

Speaking of earlier ages though I have some designs brewing for elves...

You can't just drop a bomb like that and not give any further hints!!!

Are we talking Feanor creating the silmarils, Finrod discovering the race of men, Fingolfin wounding Morgoth????

:)

I'm slowly migrating back into Middle Earth territory (from Sci-Fi territory).

Here's a few character miniatures to complement the Fallen Dwarves range. Anvil don't seem to have any capacity to take on any new miniature so these will be done in metal and available directly from me. The living statue will hopefully be done in resin and cast on demand for folks wanting one.

Keen to get these finished up in the next week then sent off for mold making. Long term I still think I have a few more miniatures to make for the range, I'm probably at the half way point right now.

More to follow on these, then I can get back to painting some GW LOTR miniatures!

Whoa! The Living Statue reminds me of some of the Ray Harryhausen stop-motion work for Jasons and the Argonauts and similar sword and sandals movies. I assume he is bigger than the others?

This blogs still alive. Hobby time has been short as of late. I managed to net some miniatures for Christmas for the first time in about 10 years+, seriously. Although I'll admit I've never actually asked for miniatures or anything in 10+ years. Proud owner of Wargs, Hunter Orcs, Hunter Orcs on Wargs and a pair of Great Eagles. Nice. Should get to those some time in the Spring...

As of now I have a relatively large horde of miniatures needing attention so wont be buying anything new for the rest of the year.

Here's the latest on the Galadhrim, I've got another box of Warriors and also a Cavalry box to keep this skirmish force going. Can't wait to do some converting and sculpting with them...

Thanks all!

Crucium Giger, I'll drop you a pm when I get casts in, probably 4-6 weeks. There's a couple more minis I'm still sculpting that will be in the mold also. Spear options for the grunts and double handed weapon troops will probably be in the next mold/batch of minis.

Re: Harrhausen: I'm recently watched all the old sinbad films and bought the Harryhausen art books. I really want to do Sinbad/Arabian sculpts and get them in the same world as the Fallen Dwarves. I've got concepts for 4 armed fire Jinn that can ally with the Dwarf Sorcerers along with Sand Wraiths and all that good desert stuff.

Galadhrim are next in line for the Goblin Town treatment, I'll do a tutorial for them in the coming months!

Cheers MOTN, really looking forward to the spear and double handed troops and I'll need a good quantity of each of those to bulk out the army.
As for the Arabian sculpts, brilliant. Beyond LOTR Amy and myself have had an eye on Crooked Dice's 7TH Voyage rules for some Harryhausen inspired gaming and these along with the Fallen Dwarves and much of the Haradrim range will be perfect for it.

SWEET! Besides dwarves, harad/desert type warriors are my favourite. (and rangers/wood elves too...) Once I have the time and money to be active in the hobby again, I think I will be coming to you with my money rather than gw, though I do like the grimhammer models...

I've not had a lot of hobby time as of late, but where possible I've managed to do a little sculpting! This is the first I'm showing these off on the web.

These are just tests at the moment, quite possibly I'll have them cast up as they are to act as dollies – I can then sculpt on the arms and weapons, angle the head and sculpt hair, add in cloaks and other details, etc.etc.

They're not necessarily LOTR, very much like my Fallen Dwarves (my own gestating fantasy setting), but they can probably find a place in my own LOTR miniature collection...

Not entirely sure about that Elf, but the “Evil Man” and the “Armoured Goblin” feel like they're on target.

More soon hopefully, and more Lothlorien Elves painted!

Wow, that's what I call clean sculpting! I do actually prefer the elf to your dwarfes! (Maybe because I don't really like their beards...)
I am looking forward to more progress, keep going on like this!

Edit: I meant the evil man, not the elf, he is just awesome!
