This miniature was a pleasure to paint, i really hope gamesworkshop will continue to produce this super high qualità new plastic range for lotr/hobbit characters! A lot of characters (if not all) deserve this treatment, i hope we will see also some evil one in the future (my hope it's a new Gothmog.... a man can dream :) )

Hope you like it:

Nicely done! I wish they had a paint job like this on the forgeworld website. You can really see the detail in the face here.

Beautifully done. May I ask how you painted the face?

Thanks guys!
@Feanorthenoldor: sure, the step are more or less this:
- Base ratskin flesh + white 60-40 (i use white from vallejo model color)
- add white for the first light
- agrax shade on everything (stay soft and controlled, best if mix with lahmian medium)
- shade/glaze with doombull brown very diluited in the recess/darkest zone
- get back to the first light
- add more and more white in the lighter zone until you want/you fell satisfied

I agree. I must buy this model? How much for it, with the paint on it? Just kidding, I blew all my money on wargaming already. That texturing is amazing... You should paint for GW. You make people want to buy their models.

As other have already mentioned, this is a much better paintjob than GW's. You really managed to bring life to that face. The eyes are great in particular. I also love the robes.

I think this is so close to perfection that I can offer some constructive critizism regarding what I do think look subpar. I think the shade below the cheeks are a bit too dark. Especially since the beard right next to it is not as dark. I think there could be larger constrasts on the sword to make it look more shiny. Lastly I think the hair looks a bit flat, but I suppose that is the way the model is molded. Maybe free-hand som invividual straws of hair?

Those are just my remarks based on those pictures. Again, pretty close to perfection. However, do base it. :P
