Apparently one of my local shops still has some, too. Ugh, the bank account...

Well, I finally picked up the starter set and can’t wait to get my first few games in.

It feels so weird to buy a game that is relatively mainstream in the board game/miniature universe.

Where can we hope to find them here in Canada? At Target like in the US? Uh-oh, I have a bad feeling about this...

Local Hobby stores should have it.

I know Black Knight Games has it in stock.

They usually have a wide variety. No need to worry about OOP ships just yet haha.

It's common to find some minor issues. You'll often find that one or two guns on the X-wing are glued on wrong or tilted TIE fighters. They can be easily fixed of course but just have a look at the miniatures before purchase. 8)

I'm only interested in the "classic" ships so I won't be going overboard with the aces or extended universe stuff (devlun mud).

Haha, I was in Black Knight a couple weeks ago. Most of their LoTR/ Hobbit stuff was gone and I wasn't yet looking for this game...

Ya I took the drive up last month or so trying to find that golden hobby shop with metal blisters still in stock. Unfortunately that's never the case haha.

It's usually a EFGT or a White Council boxset in the corner collecting dust

If you get into X-Wing I recommend getting a Plano case for storage.

You'll need it you if you plan on getting two starter stets and/or multiple expansions :)

Thinking very seriously of starting x-wing with a few friends. How's this for a 100pts list?
Han Solo in YT-1300 with
Chewbacca
Nien Numb
Stealth Device
Push the Limit
Millennium Falcon

Rookie Pilot in X-Wing
R2-D2

Prototype pilot in A-Wing

Thanks.

Also, does anyone know where the nearest retailer is to Watford?

I've gotten into the miniatures quite a bit, but still haven't found the starter set to get any rules down. I wanted to start a Rebel force, but the only ships of theirs I can seem to find in stores are the Falcon and the Hawk. No X-Wings, no A-Wings, no Y-Wings and none of the big ships either. So I've settled for going Imperial and I've gotten so far a TIE Advanced, a TIE Fighter and an Imperial Aces set with the two TIE Interceptors. I must say, I love the looks of the ships but it'd be nice to find the damn starter and some opposing ships!

Lord Hurin - the X-Wing starter set is available on many online stores in UK but I am not sure where you are located. It is the expansions that I am having problems getting. I have 4 of the starters :) (cheapest way of creating squadrons).

Rules can downloaded freely from the FFG website, Lord Hurin: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/ffg_c ... lowres.pdf

Was very glad to find a nice 'local webstore' (i.e. low shipping costs) who do seem to have quite a good stock at the moment, although it varies enormously over time. Probably have to get in another order, now that they have had a restock of B-Wings...

I simply use the store finder feature on the GW website and call/email all of the Independent Retailers in my area and ask if they have X-Wing Miniatures in stock.

In Ontario, the A-Wing and Interceptor expansions are especially difficult to come by. However, the rest of the expansions should be readily available.

If you’re ever in the Toronto area feel free to check out MeepleMart or Dueling Grounds.

Heck, maybe we can even organize a game which would give you a reason to travel down. Play some LOTR, buy some X-Wing miniatures ;)

You can make your own asteroids out of insulation foam - it just takes a little longer than having bought pieces. The again, you can customise your own to any size shape colour or number you desire :)

I managed to find the Medium Transport huge ship yesterday. Apparently it's brand new, which is why I never saw it before! I love it, but the price was dear so I doubt I'll get a second. I'm still on the lookout for one or two (or more likely three or four) of the starter sets. My Imperial fleet is up to 3 TIE Fighters, a TIE Advanced and 2 TIE Interceptors now but it still needs some boosting. The sole ships in my Rebel fleet is the contents of the Medium Transport expansion; the transport and an X-Wing.

Just saw it in stock at my usual webstore... very tempting indeed. Rather a good looking ship, and one of the most iconic as well, obviously.

Wow, one of my local shops (Black Knight Games for those in the area) had about 10 Tantive IVs in stock today. I have some upcoming events that prevented me from getting one, since they're $100 each. They must be pretty sure of the game's popularity though!

I put in an order at the bookdepository.com website recently. Had the cheapest prices I could find and free postage! So check them out. Unfortunately the slave 1 model got bought out while I was deciding to buy or not :(
