Hawk Wargames have another brilliant game on the way, set in the same universe as Dropzone Commander but this time it is the fleets and carriers that bring the warriors to each planet that are doing battle in orbit above the worlds. There is a lot to look at, and Beasts of war have some interesting gameplay videos up to demonstrate the mechanics. Tha models are stunning! And in hard plastic kits that allow you to buid many variants of each class of ship.

The rules for the game were written by a certain Andy Chambers :)

It has been an outstanding fundraiser so far - I think Hawk Wargames are reeling from the sheer speed of pledging - the £40k goal was demolished in under the first 10 minutes.

And they have added another pledge level in response to the clamour from backers to allow a wider choice for those who did not want a lot of PHR or Scourge.
Hawk are a very amenable company - look at the Dropzone Bootcamp they did with Beasts of War, their tournaments and forums, and now they are listening to a couple of thousand enthusiastic people - 6 days into the Kickstarter and things are going bananas! I am loving it.
It's a pity that some companies forgot how to listen to their audience. I shall say no more.

The pledges have gone to 900% of the original target and so Hawk have added more stretch goals. The painted ships look great - looking forward to seeing PHR soon.

The kickstarter is over now on an insane £629,222 total (against a goal of £40,000!)
This should reach retail roughly a month after the backers get theirs - that is planned for June 2016 but in the way of things it could be a little later; I don't mind.

So next on the agenda is acquiring some Dropzone Commander stuff so I can learn the ground war side of it.
