Hey Guys, Sam here.

There has been lots of talk about arranging more lotr tourneys on this page

LotR Championships

I'd quite like to encourage more people to come play down south and there is serious talk of trying to get some sort of league sorted out with any excess money raised from tournaments going to fund a end of year tournament. If anyone knows anywhere where tournaments could be hosted, get in contact or post on the page. Email is sampage9247@gmail.com

This is all very much in the discussion phase so would appreciate any and all input. All feedback will be taken into account.

I am very much interested in any LOTR event that costs less than what GW charge.
Will do what I can to help out, work permitting.

If people are interested then LOTR events can happen

We could probably host something in East Grinstead - we could hire the hall for the day and create loads of boards - helms deep etc?

I am also about to start work in a huge osgiliath board and possible dwarf/goblin mines...

Unfortunately East Grinstead is an awful long way for me, but i suppose wherever it is will be a long way for me so i suppose i will have to pull out unless it is a little further north as i am around Peterborough / Cambridge area.

Stockport would be amazing! Not from an utterly selfish point of view, but very easy to get to from everywhere on train and road...

Guys please join the facebook group. We're discussing everything there at the moment. Please feel free to share your opinions. It would be good to start this thing from January, so everybody's opinions are welcome.

We had some good discussions around a two day event in Easter featuring mines, osgiliath and helms deep... Time to crack the whip with my painting and scenery building!

Rather then just making it s southern thing, why don't we look at making it a u.k. Thing where there is a big event to qualify for??

It will more than likely be a UK based thing, trying to get something arranged down south is proving to be a pain, most southern LotR players are hermits like ol' radagast. If all else fails, there will be a few tournaments per year probably held somewhere in nottingham.

I'm up for anything LotR... We could do both, our club is planning some big events next year and will host a fair sized tourney, however - nationally would be better in central area such as Nottingham.
I like your pitch, I like the product... I'm in!
SD go 1/2s on fuel!? Or 1/3s if muppet goes too!

I am more than happy to provide transport for anyone in the sussex area. Can fit 5 in my car so the more people the cheaper it is.

I'm looking to get started and don't know anyone who plays, so if you'd have me, I'd be happy to get involved in a couple of these meets and meet some other people who are into the hobby. Let me know when and where and I'll give it a go!

I'd be more than happy to host people in Stockport if you give me an idea of potential numbers and people were able to bring terrain etc.

I should be able to make any events in stockport, liverpool isn;t that far away. Can also attend things down south as family are down there.
Whether its in Erebor or Mordor, King's Landing or Winterfel, I;ll pretty much be good to make it.

Be nice if someone on here was in Birmingham, that seems very central and would be ideal for people from any location really....

Off the top of my head:

Why not, if you want a UK league split it into Northern and Southern leagues. There's a centre in the Stockport and a recently opened one near London, Hockley to be precise.

I recall, or I think I do, memory getting poor, some online retailer/distributor setting up a wargaming centre in the south-west as well.

Go for two, or up to four tournaments a year in each region and then a grand final.

I think the idea of splitting up into region may be useful in getting the thing off the ground, at least initially.

You could even say that the each league represented a different part of middle earth, Northern one being over the misty mountains, Mirkwood, Arnor.
Southern one covering Rohan, Gondor ect.
May add a lil more fun to it all :p
