It looks more awesome every time, Dorth :-D

If I ever go through with my plan for a Minas Tirith diorama, I'll know where to find the article for the siege tower

This will be the last WIP pic, as the next time you will see the tower, it will be painted and ready for war.

I have included one of the WETA sketches used in the design of the film tower. There are some additional screens at the top of the tower, and I assume they are there to provide more protection from flanking fire. They also break up what might otherwise be a slightly monotonous profile.
I have added something to these since this photo was taken, and am still debating whether to go for the bedraggled banners shown in the sketch.

I know this has probably turned out to be more elaborate than most people want for their own use, but I have some suggestions for ways of achieving the overall shape without all the tying of knots and hacking at lots of wood. Well, not too much wood, really...

Just a few finishing touches and then the paint.

Then the article...

Unbelievable what those Mordor Orcs can build! Through your work we get a clear idea of the craftsmanship of the baddies (although I wonder if the Gondorians upon their walls would have looked at these monsters with the same feelings of admiration… ). A tower worthy of Mordor; I’m happy you’re on my side!

A jewel in Sauron’s crown, Chris! :yay:

Will you be using a paint scheme similar to what you used for Mark1?

That's why he's making it, so that those who want it know how to build it themselves.

Looking forward to seeing it painted Dorth, if you get around to it.

Despite powercuts and lousy weather, painting has commenced. Not much fun trying to spray prime something while dodging heavy showers....

Maybe not as nice as yours but I bought 6 of these on ebay for 10 bucks each. The scale is perfect and no muss no fuss.

I think a lot of people look for this:

Some times is not dificult to find the files if you know the exact name to search with Google. 8)

The design is perfect. Looks fantastic.
It also looks like you will have a lot of nooks and hard to hit spots to paint on this, but that can be said about many scenery pieces.
