may I just note that I think that SkymaN got 3rd place here, when we look at the results displayed in the sculpting section?

Good job everyone! Some deserved winners this year. :yay:

Ah [word deleted]! Thanks Sean,

My apologies to SkymaN and Hallpers for my stupidness.

And a 'trenuchet' is a waterproof overcoat used by oyster divers on the Normandy coast. But of course, Ranger of Gondor has chosen not to enter his 'trenuchet' model and entered a 'trebuchet' instead, which probably was a less risky move.

Or something.

That means you're meant to fix it, Alan.

Sorry if it came across as harsh, I couldn't find a smiley which I felt fit my comment.

Congratulations to everyone who came in the top three (or two), and to all whose names are not on that list, best of luck next time.

Actually Captain I chose not to correct my typo because then Gaarew's comments and my joke answer wouldn't have made much sense.

When does Gaarew make sense, typoed or otherwise?
Well done folks - and a special applause for Master MacGothmog - I was wondering who created the Royal Stables - magnificent, and came out of the blue...

Congratulations to all competitors!

My compliments to all painters; it still surprises me to see what one can do with a 3-bristle brush on a surface of (less than) a square inch. ‘Arwen’ was my favourite but I can easily live with Gamling being first among equals.

Hats off to Master Craftsman Natarn for his Smaug the Magnificent! Notwithstanding his scary looks he isn’t much more than a bit of ‘garden fencing wire’ and fifty pounds worth of modelling putty… Utterly amazing!

And I wouldn’t mind to have that trebuchet defending the walls of Minas Tirith… if I’m ever going to build that city (I don’t think so…). Well done, Ranger of Gondor!

Praise also for both the House of Tom Bombadil and eBob’s Hobbiton Bridge. It must have been a pleasure to work on these particular pieces of scenery as they breathe such an enchanting atmosphere!

:yay:

There were some great entries here in this OR Awards. Bart's diorama, and Miguel's Edoras Royal Stables come to mind as astounding pieces of craftmanship. It's also nice to see a fairly new member like Julian doing so well with that amazing entry of his.

Can't wait for next awards, I think I'll have to join in the fun then...

Congrats everyone! :)

I think you misunnderstood my point, or simply choose to ignore it.

I did not state that I have been here longer than Julian, because that would be untrue. I was merely stating that it is inspiring for new members such as myself, to see someone who has only been here for a few months, such as Julian, place so well in the OR awards and become a valued member of the community. I hope that better clarifies my comment.

Now let us get back on topic, so we do not derail an important thread such as this one.

Congrats again to everyone who entered! :)
