Congratulations all!

I'm glad Curunir won those prizes as he is such a helpful guy around the site!

The best painted miniature open was predictable, I didn't realise what sort of level of stuff would be entered in there, so next time i'd enter the beginners section.

A big congratulations to all who got a placing!

Alex

Congratulations to the winners, and to each and every one of you.
I looked at every single entry in every category except the scenarios, and every entry had something special.

I do go on like a broken record, but I'll be gone for 3 weeks after typing this, so you can stand it, I think.

There is something special imbued in any work into which the creator of said work has poured his heart. Every entry had this special something, and that's why I keep coming back. If I wanted to see great painting, I'd go to CMON. Here, there is also great painting, but there is a love for the hobby and for Tolkien's world that goes beyond the clamouring for painting recognition and ratings. There is a shared spirit and enthusiasm for the efforts and dreams of others. That makes them all the more special. Well done guys!

I agree, congrats to all the winners and kudos to all who entered. I didn't see anything win an award that didn't deserve it. I particularly like that the contest judging is for the most part peer-based, with the exception of the big, overall award.

I have entered a lot of scale model contests in my time and my favorite award is always the Peoples Choice award, which IMO does away with a lot of the overly technical nit-picking that often accompanies an engrained judge corps and just acknowledges the overall execution and appeal of the subject. In One-Ring Awards, it's all that way! I like it. On top of that, the entries in every category provide a wealth of inspiration and ideas.

Looking forward to the next round.

DC

 Wow, thank you everyone and my thanks to the committee for the Committee Choice Award! What a real treat.

Congratulations to all of the winners, and a special kudos to FattyB, well done! And to all of you who entered the Open Best Mini... I am sorry that there can only be three winners. That was a very tough choice with so many great entries.

I'd like to say a special thank you to all of you who helped me feel so welcome right from the start and inspired me to improve my work. All of the great comments that I received in my WIP threads had a large impact on my desire to excel with my projects. Thanks also for the great feedback that I received from everyone who proofread and playtested the scenario... it wouldn't have been possible to finish it without you!

Finally, a very large thank you to the One-Ring Staff. I am constantly amazed at the quality of this site, and can only imagine the amount of time and energy that is needed to maintain it, let alone run a competition. Thank you, thank you and thank you!

Again, well done everyone, and Good Luck with the Summer edition of the One-Ring Awards.

Back to work...

@lightning: All of the entries can be viewed in the Competition Categories and I hope to see some of your work entered next time ;)

Well done folks and commiserations to those who came sooo close !

Some great and deserving entries this time round, which just shows the talent we have here at the One Ring.

You should all be very proud of yourselves, even those who didn't win, you all did a fantastic job !

To the winners, as soon as we receive all your addresses, we will sort out the prizes and have them in the post in due course.

Well done again folks !

A hearty WELL DONE!!! to everyone who entered the awards and congratulations to all the place winners. The quality of the entries this season were astounding!

I made a slight correction to the prize for the Committees Choice, sorry. Khamul is not included. It is an Easterling Command blister. My apologies for the incorrect information - entirely my fault.

Well, the second One Ring Awards are now over, so get that paint brush ready for the next one. Entries will be accepted on the 1st of July for the Summer Awards.

As a member of the committee I was very pleased with the enthousiasm and amount of entries. Always nice to have such devoted members! Congratulations to all who participated (I must admit that I wasn't present this time, but Summer is there soon!) and mostly to all the winners. Finally my big applause goes to Curunír who fully deserved it to win our special price. Well done!

Grab those brushes, mini's, paints, flockbags, etc. Summer is about to arrive!

Congratulatins to all the participants, thanks to O-R for making these awards as they are fun to take part in. I totally agree with everything that Tobold said in his post.

And thanks for voting for me to be in second place I was not expecting that with the quality of the entries.
