Welcome back Mr Gimli.. how are we tracking guys?

@werennor That'll be great to have those painted Elves to use in games with your grandson! Always way more epic vs unpainted minis.

I've gone a different direction with this month's entry- Rohan Battle company. I'm going to finish off as many of my Rohan infantry as possible. They're at various stages of completion, some just green base coat, others 3 or 4 colours..

Already made good progress on first 24 and finished off metal captain & banners earlier in the month. Was keen to get a decent chunk of my backlog done and felt like something different after painting monsters the past 2 months. Here's my proof photo.

 Hi, now here is the picture of my unpainted elves. It was a busy week, there it's such a late post. I hope I'll get them finished in time.posting.php?mode=reply&f=96&t=34308&sid=1a2d6c0abf514b0fcfc175d6d6893ff4#

The paint on the captain miniature is some years old. I declare it as part of the priming, and I will paint it over.

Here is my Gandalf the White entry for the June challenge. I think he will be the only mini I get to paint this month as my work is heating up.

Pretty happy with how he turned out, painting white is always difficult. Feedback welcome.

Awesome job! Your Gandalf has so much character. Love the layering of the robes and striking white/bone colour scheme you've used. Captured all his wisdom in the face too!

I've finished 24 Rohan infantry.. hoping to get another 24 done by next week.

Well done Werennor, and just in the nick of time too! Lovely work on the armour. Also like the various blues you've used on the robes.

I'll post my completed photos tomorrow.. just have the last basing stage left to finish

I don't usually paint blood on my minis, but that is rather tastefully done. I love how it complements his sleeves.

Thanks both. I'm a sucker for adding blood to minis so I try and exercise some restraint so to not get too carried away !

Also I have updated the main post for July so get your entries in all. I am going to have a rustle through my cupboard of shame and maybe see what you guys would be most interested in seeing finished.

Apologies everyone this is almost a full 2 weeks late.. but finally had chance to take photos of my June entry. Finished 32 infantry, and several command models (mounted also but didn't photograph).

Pretty happy with the efforts and getting them finished after all these years on the backlog. They could have done with a few more layers of highlights so maybe one day I'll revisit them but they're battle ready for now.

For this month's entry I'll be doing Thrydan Wolfsbane. Plan is to build and finish a Dunlending army by the end of the year and figured he'd be a fun place to start. Proof photo to follow shortly.

Great idea Mr Gimli. Those watch towers are awesome. Are you going for a particular finish/colour for them? There's a decent painting guide in the War in Rohan book. Look forward to seeing the end result!

Here are my proof photos for Thrydan. Going to spray up this morning and try have finished by Friday.

Yesterday I decided to place a converted Rohan soldier underneath his mount for added effect. Wanted him to stand out being the leader of Dunland. Not sure yet if I'm completely happy with the outcome- base looks pretty busy now & don't want it detracting from Thrydan himself. May go back and remove later on, will see how I go.

How's everyone else going?

Not going for any particular finish, just going to grab a bunch of browns and see where it goes.

The base you have done for Thrydan looks good to me !

Progress made on the Rohan tower. Happy with the grey but I don't think the brown contrasts enough, any ideas? Thinking of maybe adding some colourful shields or flags as decorations?

Will update the main post to August on Monday so gives a little more time.
