Well due to gaarew's Doombull WIP post I picked up a box of Minotaurs and started to mess around with them...I am really impressed with these models and I don't much like Warhammer products.

Here is a WIP shot of one I built and put on a 60mm base.

Here is a link to more of that model from my blog website (didn't want to paste it in the post here due to it being a pretty big photo)...still has a ways to go, but very fun to paint!! :)

Like you, I'm not crazy about most Fantasy models, and in my opinion the Beastmen are the worst of the lot. That said, I checked your blog and I really like what you've done with this guy so far!

Looks nice Dave but its my personal opinion that these new beastmen minis are a step backwards in quality of GW design. Nothing to do with you job with it, of course, and thats what it counts.

Keep it up, mate... Warhammer is silly, but there's some really nice models in the ranges that are really fun to paint. It's nice to try different stuff to avoid getting bored with LoTR.

Ummm paint scheme...well, basically because he is a one off I did alot of mixing of colors, so let me try to give you the basics...

Base coat of the skin was Scorched Brown and Chaos Black highlighted up to a Scorched Brown and a little bit of Bleached Bone.
Left the nose and feet a dark brown/black color washed over with straight black.
Fur was black and highlighted up to white/grey
Eyes were Blazing Orange and highlighted with Blazing Orange and Bleached Bone
Armor was done in a matte black to resemble a wrought iron look.
Shield done in various browns.

Too many people do their monotaurs too bright for my liking, nice to see a dark one.

I don't personally like the black armour, but the eye is nicely done and you pulled off the black snout well.
