Aside form the mold line ( haven't we all done them ) I love this version of the cave troll. A surreal paint scheme that looks almost ghostly / zombie.

I've rushed these to get them finished, one or two minor details to go back and finish/correct in the next few days. All that's left really is to finish the troll and the whole army is ready for a photo shoot.

I really want to make spider riders, archers, a standard bearer and a little warmachine – a catapult or bolt thrower in the style of the torture devices to goblins have.... but the terrain will take priority.

The Cave Troll from FOTR you did in the style of the AUJ goblins is really cool. Very imaginative on your part, I like the color scheme alot. Good job.

Few more rushed paint jobs here but they're tabletop quality, I can go back and develop the painting in the future!

That's all my Misty Mountain Goblins painted up – hooray. Once the Terrain is done I'll get more photos of all the miniatures together.

Here's the early stages of tests for Gondorian's. My next army will either be Gondor or Galadhrim, with various characters and also Thorin's company in between to break up any monotony.

Completed my first Fallen Dwarves with Crossbows:

Radagast still needs a lot of attention, and he was tricky to photograph:

I love the blubs on your trolls skin with the subtle purple in it.
The gondorians look realistic and have nice armour, I'd only make the base seem a little more lighter.
Fallen dwarves, where are the models from? I love them! nice highlights.
Radagast has the rather serious face on your model, he seems determined (it's hard to capture a emotion in paint but if you wanted him to be determined you did a awesome job) but where is the birdfluid in his hair?

Overal, very nice job I'd like to see more of your work. :D

He sculpted them.

Very nice job on these guys once again. Though I'm wondering why you put the cave troll on what looks like a 60mm base...?

If I remember correctly he doesn't game with them (at least SBG) so he models them for display.

Excellent work again, is there a slight hint of green on the Gondorians?

Beautiful painting - yes, Radagast's eyes are outstanding. Must be the mushrooms :)

RE: Radagast – the eyes were just my usual simple method, black socket, white line then a black dot in the centre. Placing the dot just up from the centre gives the impression he's hunched over and looking up/forward. Any other impression is just a fluke. I totally forgot about the bird droppings in his hair! I'll probably develop the entire miniatures paint job, he's a special character after all, the browns are still quite flat and dull in places.

Re: Troll Base – same as with the Goblin King I found the 40mm base to be too small and the troll looks squashed onto it, especially with the pose having outstretched arms. I don't game a lot but since this is the hobbit, and there were no cave troll's in the hobbit, I can use the stats and points of one of the three mountain trolls quite easily and that big base covers any rule concerns. Also to me as a casual gamer the base size rule is trivial in the grand scheme of things.

Here's my test miniatures finished, basic paint jobs that I can replicate 20-30 odd times for an army. The bases still need some foliage.

I think I'll go with the Galadhrim for my next army – they will need to help take on the Necromancer in Dol Guldur. I have two boxes of warriors, one box of cavalry and another Haldir (same pose, ordered twice by mistake). Small 500 points or so force so I should have plenty minis to do some conversions on... can't wait to get sculpting some elf stuff!
