Galadriel on a horse would be great! (or a deer like Thranduil)

After all, Elrond and his children all have horses, as do Gandalf and Saruman, and the ringwraiths have horses or fell beasts!

i thought that i read a rumor somewhere that after the Pelennor Fields / Gondor at War whole thing, the next project will be a return to the Last Alliance. Some things mentioned were new poses for high elf warriors, new poses for Numenoran warriors, possibly Numenoran cavalry, some new Numenoran heroes including Anarion, and possibly even a couple new High Elf heroes.

Can't remember where I read that or when it may have been, but fairly sure that I did read it somewhere - we can hope it's true !

Anarion is referenced in the new Armies book

I converted Numenorean cavalry. Buy some unbarded horsemen from Fireforge Games, some GW horse bases and some unloved Numenorean plastics. Shave the necks down on the FF knights, lop off a Numenorean's head and attach after adding the cape. You can use the swords or not, there aren't as many as you'd like in the FF set. Paint in Numenorean colours, including the mushroom tree on the chest. If you accidentally bought barded horses, fear not--they can be painted up for some mounted Citadel Guard if you're willing to do a bit more conversions, or alternative KoDA.

I wish we could get Numenoreans in sets of 24 for 40USD. Otherwise it is a bit expensive to build.

I really hope the Last Alliance is a real thing. Some variety is seriously needed for this.

Yeah, but why would she need a horse when she can just teleport her astral image all over middle earth? :)

I don't want to see Numenorean cavalry. I prefer things that we get in the story. Its possible there were some mounted Numenoreans, but I've never seen them as a horse people.

I guess it comes down to the question of game design vs narrative.

We saw Isildur and his entourage on horses in the Fellowship of the Ring.

It's true we didn't see horses in the battle with Sauron, but maybe that was because it was impractical to bring enough water and food for horses as well as the troops. You didn't see the elves in that battle using horses either, but we saw them use them elsewhere. And elves have mounted cavalry in the game.

Everyone was mounted in that seen, as far as I know.

We're talking about the Last Alliance scene at the beginning of the Fellowship of the Ring, the one with the Numenoreans. No horses there, brah.

I think you're thinking of the battle before the Black Gate near the end of Return of the King.

Oh, sorry. They were mounted there!
So where's our Numenorean cavalry?

I too would like to see new sprues for High Elves (especially getting rid of the finecast spearmen to be included in a new plastic) and Numenoreans.

Agreed. Too much $ to raise an army right now...

I really hope that's the case. I found my copy of Legions of Middle Earth back from the heady days of 2006, and there's a lot of Elven units they either never made miniatures for, or never made rules for altogether! So GW must have had some intentions back then of revisiting the Last Alliance, but presumably refocused more on third age factions as the popularity of the game wavered back then?

Also it's been challenging to get hold of the re-releases that I want so far! Between me checking the website and actually ordering on the 24th, the Arnor troops, Mahud King, and Groblog all went OOS! I did manage to get hold of all the other Arnor expansion figures though that day (plus a few others for the collection....).

I've ordered the Mahud King today (plus the Mumak Mahud for a tribesmaster conversion, and again a few others...) but I'm still waiting on Arnor soldiers and Groblog, as they keep going in and out of stock.

Also I really hope GW re-release some Isengard models soon. Wildmen of Dunland, the Dunlendings range, Feral Uruks are all needed!

GW doesn't run Black Friday or Christmas sales, do they?

I don't know how it is in the UK, but most of those reissues they recently re-released are already out of stock (or never came back into stock). Of course, hardly anyone plays the game here.

Geke, guessing you olay in North America?
My local store seems to be selling well, got them to start carrying and sold a number of box sets. Game nights starting soon as well. However, it is not aa GW store, but rather a gaming store. So it could be different.

Sorry, I meant to point out I was in the US. Where are you at?

The thing is, there are so many games like this, and each store seems to push their own favorite. The game has always been dead here to the point of being nonexistent. I don't know if it's just my neck of the woods, but it does seem like they're not too worried about keeping stock up in the US online store.

Card games have been big here. 40k was about the only GW game that was hot. I would think the Tolkien license would count for more, but it hasn't. I've shown a few people how to play, but no one really caught interest. I guess I'm the only one dumb enough to spend this much money on such a thing lol. So I'm basically stuck being a collector.
