I have started the epic task of painting Zombicide prison outbreak. I've not done any blood or gore yet as I'm quite wary of overdoing it and spoiling them. Fortunately there are plenty to practice on.

Awesome! What kind of game were you planning with these guys? I've always fantasied about having my own zombie game.

Talk about making plastic look good, with the muted colours you use these almost seem like they should be from a Lovecraft novel or some horror noir film.

The game is called Zombicide and is a cooperative survival board game. The wife and I have played a couple of games so far and it's proving to be very fun. There's an interesting mechanic so that as you gain more experience and unlock new skills the number of zombies spawned increases. This keeps it quite tense throughout.

Thanks. I used Walking Dead as an inspiration and have it playing when I'm painting.

I think these figures highlight one of the changes your have made to your technique. A muted palette.
You seem to be working this very very well and I have to confess to finding your work increasingly fascinating. Once I've finished Bag End I will be looking at my painting again and this muted style will be something I will experiment with.

I've made a start on the many deadzone kickstarter models:

They look good, what size are they?

Enforcers - nice. They are slightly bigger than GW Space Marines and these are the substitute Warpath minis (the new DZ versions will arrive in 2014).
Sedition Wars strain - very nice. I have loads of these too.
Spatium Canis Lupus - I have to admit the Space Wolves were always my favorite chapter/legion. Something to do with the Vikingness and association with large canines I suspect.

Outstanding work on the Enforcer's, I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the rest of the Deadzone minis.

The enforcers are quite tall, almost the same height as space marine terminators. And they need to be when they're up against these dudes.

Oh, that Gen 1 just oozes malice and power. I was surprised at how large the Gen 2's are as well. You have gone for a more muted palette than the Mantic Studio version; I am leaning towards something with more dark and contrasting colours. I want people to soil themselves when they see the Plague thundering toward them.

I've started back on deadzone. They're not the best models in terms of the sharpness of details but there's enough variety to test out different techniques and colours.

I agree, not the best figures but needless to say lovely work on them.
Your bases are looking very good. I see you have been working on these.

The Enforcer Captain looks great.

The Sedition Wars minis are among the best on the market. Deadzone minis are cheaper but decent at the price - the big Phase 1 Plague beastie is amazing.

Very nice painting style, very similar to John Blanche style of painting, which is a compliment as i have always admired his work

Nice work Chris.
Are you on CMON ? You should do a WIP log to promote your work and the business. The forums are actually very helpful, not like the voting which at times is all over the place.
