No, I'm not on coolmini or any of the other general wargaming/painting forums. Next year I'll be looking to promote the business a bit better, which shouldn't be too difficult, so I'll consider joining coolmini or maybe wamp.

It's been a bad year for my miniature collection - zero models bought and only a handful painted. To remedy this I've worked on a much faster style that can knock out a decent standard in little more than a hour. I probably won't use it for commissions since it's a bit rough in places and some parts get little more than a basecoat and wash. For my own stuff, well it's better than bare plastic and I can overlook my shortcuts.

Those are still great figures! Even if some parts are basically basecoat-wash-highlight, you have chosen well what to take your time on. At larger than life size a quick look-over sees them to be above table-top standard to me, so I am sure that they will look really good on the table. 8)

I have to give it to you MMS, even your basic jobs look mighty fine.

I'm repainting my infinity collection to practice a more precise painting style.

I used the loaded brush blending from the painting buddha videos and for my first time I think it turned out quite well.

Lovely work Chris, infact it's excellent. What's the loaded brush technique? Is it the two brush blending method ?

It involves loading the brush with the basecolour and having say the highlight on the tip. As the highlight colour is used up a transition is created.

I learned about it on the painting buddha age of sigmar videos:

It's pretty mindblowing.

This does look amazing, I especially love the armour! The technique seems to work very well, at least you have mastered it! Only the gun/rifle could use a bit more contrast in my opinion.
Cheers,

really nice work MMS.

Also, I can't wait to get back home from vacation, so I can try out that loaded brush technique on my NMM. Hopefully it will work out to save me time as they said it's purpose is to.

I didn't stick with the loaded brush method as I found getting the right consistency too much trouble. Instead I gave the airbrush another go and went through one of the tutorials in the Giraldez book.

I picked up that book and figure the other day. Slightly disappointed with the book as I was hoping for more theory.
Nice job on Joan though, maybe a touch brighter on the highs ?
I don't know when I will get to do mine but I hope todo it as much justices as yours.

Yes, the book could have done with more explanation of the techniques. But in fairness I have yet to read a painting guide book that goes into that much detail.

However,I will be picking up some of the other models as following the steps was a good learning experience which is how you should see the Joan of Arc model; it's a practice piece albeit a limited edition one. Don't worry about doing it justice instead view it as a step towards better painting.

And yes I didn't go up to pure white for the hightlights as my white was dried out somewhat making it useless for edge highlighting. The model does have the greatest contrast than any I have done so I have improved in that regards.

I've heard the Figopedia book is great for colour and light theory, unfortunately it's in French and I've yet to find an Rnglish version !

Great looking minis - is the one at the top of the page the Lesser Lebowski (as opposed to the Big Lebowski)?

I'm getting more into infinity these days. These are the last of my old models before I get into the new edition stuff.

Very nice MMS, i have an Infinity Aleph army, i find them hard to paint for some reason, more practice i need i guess. Great sculpts and a really nice rule system.
Do you play as well?

No, the hobby is very much a solitary experience for me. I've been working through tutorials in the Giraldez book and on his facebook and found the models are a lot of fun to paint that way.

Here are some more I sold on ebay recently:
