I wanted to do blogs in the past but in the end never started one or followed through with it. Reasons were fading interest in the topic, not enough time etc.

So since some months the idea of doing my own MESBG blog started to surface. I wasn't sure if i should do it but in the end i felt a really big motivation, a lot of ideas and so I gave in ^^

I present you my ~2 weeks old blog about MESBG:

https://castellan-of-the-ring.blogspot.com/

Its about my thoughts on various topics of the hobby, my army projects, my experiences, tournament reports and whatever else comes to my mind ;)

Feedback and tips are appreciated! =)

Sounds like your first year has been a good one. I always enjoy reading other gamers chronicles about the hobby, makes you realise just how different peoples experiences and interests are.
Hope you continue with MESBG through whatever changes are coming.

Last Saturday I attended my second tournament and had a lot of fun. Read here about this ones quite unique attempt to do something different, the games, how I fared and which lessons I took away from it ;)

:(

That Dol Guldur force was always going to struggle. Anything with mobility and ranged attacks is going to crush it.
With the Numenoreans why don't you just use a Gondor/Minas Tirith list but with Last Alliance era figures?
That way you could include cavalry and mounted leaders. (Although I have not played SBG since pre big blue book so may be totally wrong on what is allowed now)

Oh I am not so sure. I played with them against Isengard and I was the one to crush them^^ I would rather say that all scenarios with holding targets are problematic.

Nice idea but well its more strict nowadays and doing that would probably not allowed at a tournament ;)

I suspected as much while I was writing that comment. GW looking to reward people who spend huge sums of money on their range rather than those who show skill at modelling and conversion.
Didn't used to be like that.

A very well written article.

Is all your gaming Tournament style or do you play narrative/scenario based games as well?
