That kinda anecdote is why I love the game so much, you should your opponents face when you bring 3 spider queens to a siege, one turn they storm the towers( where the other player usualy keeps their siege batteries) heroic combat kill all the siege crew then get going on the courtyard folk.
I've done that before so much fun
on that note next time I'm so going to get them to charge the defenders on the wall, and just barge them off it, watch them all fall to their deaths.

I'm thinking of building up a blob of Black Guard supported by Morannon spear/shields headed by the Dark Marshal for the banner bonus. Then additional companies of Black Guard/Morannon with other Mordor support nasties like drummers and Shamans and the like.

I know it's not particularly dirty or under-handed, I just quite like my rank-and-file lines and the Dark Marshall is a lovely little model. (Gosh and so are the Black Guard even if I'll never be able to afford them)

I used to use this before LoTR died in my area, one thing to remember is that Black Guard are Uruks and Morannon Orcs are, unsurprisingly, Orcs, so you'd need 1 type of Drummer for each part of your block to be effective. Also this list hates Crossbows and Ballistas, each Black Guard lost is pretty bad.

my favorite tactic is have groblog as the army leader and have all the warband leaders be shamans, have at least 1 drum, and some dwellers in the dark....in a sense you have goblins that don't seem to die like they should and terror causing creatures that recover wounds for every slain enemy model.

I was using Burdhur in a game the other day and my opponent tried twice to sing him away but Buhrdur passed his courage tests both times and then threw a stone at the sentinel.

Which was accompanied by a very loud "SHUT UP!" Lol guess he's not a music fan

Here's a cool tactic I just came up with. Knock some stuff over with natures wrath, charge in Elendil and some dwarves and get Elendil to call a heroic combat. Get the dwarves to call piercing strike because it doesn't matter if they lose because the opponent can't strike blows back. And if the dwarves win they get a possible strength increase of up to 3 (depending on whether you use khazads or normal dwarves) and get doubled strikes. Then because of Elendil's heroic combat you can do all over again. Carnage.

Natures wrath, Elendil and dwarves? What sort of force are you usin, since this has to be some super cheese army..

I'm inclined to agree with the Knife, throw in Alfred and Bombur then you've successfully completed the most cheese/broken force ever lol. Various factions allied together with people that would never have lived at the same time lol, I almost miss legions now

more revised list of Narsil's... have an elven storm caller use nature's wrath, then thorin calls heroic combat with the dwarfs holding 2H axes.

this could be in the battle of five armies then, and the storm caller would be from mirkwood obviously

I'm sure the dwarves fought in the last alliance :P
Though you could always use elven warriors with elven blades in place of dwarves.

Honestly legions would have made this alliance possible anyway. Bombur is in the same league of Dwarves who help Laketown fight Smaug and in the Battle of Five armies. Therefore Alfred would have always been able to ally with Bombur. The real problem is that Alfred uses Will to give away Might, rather than Might to give away Might. If he was restricted on using on himself (except the 1 result) then it would not be abusive. However, I would still say that even under the current ruling, it is not broken. Alfred is hilariously easy to kill. Therefore this combo doesn't last very long especially since deployment is half the board and movement is much quicker

Seeing as we have had a recent addition of troops to the meta, has anyone come up with any combos and tactics

Like backing Tauriel up with Galadrim pike support and sending her into the goblin fray?

Or allying Beorn and 2 eagles with the shire and watch you opponent cry when they have to take on a hoard of halflings supporting 3 monsters.

There were Dwarves at the Last Alliance:
http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/War_of_the_Last_Alliance

Elrond and Elendil could easily team up and you just throw some Dwarves in. Not cheesy at all. And if you can't afford Elrond get a Galadhrim Stormcaller. They were recruited for the Last Alliance as well. Don't be so quick to dis me guys. If you doubt me follow the link.

I knew there was i reason i helped... i think the other way would be better as it is a little cheaper on the cost, and dwarves fighting in the last alliance isn't wildly known... (although try not to use wikia as a valid source...it has been known to be wrong sometimes...i checked three other websites to be sure...)

I'm not hating on the list because there were no dwarves in TLA, I was hating on the cheese factor mostly lol because I'm a faction purist

Threadomancy time, now that mirkwood spider profile has been repaired and that the necromancer has curse.
Necromancer casts chanelled curse on the enemy super awesome hero, if the spell succeeds use a mirkwood spider to paralyse it, either way the enemy hero must lose all its fate then go in for the kill with a castellan of dol guldur with morgul blade or the necromancer himself
