Here's quick wip.

The yellow turned out a lot more brown than yellow, but I think looks fine.

Quick update today. I'm working on several things at once, including a few bases, but somehow managed to run out of superglue. So until I get some more, here is a rider of Rohan. The horse isn't new, I just borrowed it for the pic.

Still have the shield left, and probably some freehand on the cloak.

Finished some stuff! Really like how the Rohan warrior turned out, sorry for some slightly out of focus pictures. I may do a few touch ups to it, and maybe try and get a few more pictures. I decided to base it with dirt instead of sand, and I liked the color of it so much I just left it as its natural color. I'm also really pleased with how the water turned out, I actually got some decent water effects instead of those beads that had to be melted and was all around not fun to try and stick on a small base.
Let me know what you guys think!

Any comments or thoughts? Any feedback would be appreciated.
I've decided to revisit some of my old display pieces to update them since I like to think I've improved since I did them. Plus I'm not under any time constraint, so I don't have to rush through them. Both Galadriel and the big base are wip's atm, and Haldir and the Gondor captain will be soon.

The shield of the Gondor captain looks fantastic. The blend from white to the light blue is done really well.

How did you do the water on your Rohan bowman? I was trying some stuff recently but norhing turned out great.

Great painting, as always!
The Easterling is very well done, very neat! Only thing that might be improved that I can think of are the two tiny tufts of grass behind the Easterling. The tufts seem a bit too small to me. Otherwise, can't think of anything else! :yay:

Dioramas also look very nice! Curious to see how they turn out.

I used some water effects by Woodland Scenics. It's the blue water one, which I wasn't going to get at first, but it was cheaper than the other options, and I think it turned out well. Too use it, you just put some on the surface where you want the water to be, and spread it around. Just make sure not to make it too thick.

Yeah, they are pretty small. I would've used bigger ones, but I'm all out :(

Galadriel is nearly finished, just waiting for some stuff to dry. I did finish touching up Haldir though, and I think it turned out great. Before it looked a little too dark, so I added some flowers and grass to brighten it up, as well as added more foliage to the tree. I also filled in a large gap between the tree and ground with some putty, and added the roots, cuz roots are cool. The last thing I added was some water effects to the water.

That looks fantastic! What does the elvish on the base say though? Guessing from the sticky note Galadriel? Never got the time to figure out elvish...

Galadriel base looks so much better now. The only thing i would still adapt is the side of the base. U have 2 layers in it. I would give the upper layer some paint work, to make it look like it's sliced out of the landscape.

Looks fantastic, but I do agree with garmenhord that potentially making the part underneath the raised area look more like the "ground" might step it up a notch even further!

That Galadriel diorama is beautiful! The foliage makes it very realistic.
Only small thing that could perhaps be improved is the large dark green plastic leaves on the edge of the water. They look a little flat on the picture, so maybe highlighting them a bit more would be better.
Other than that, brilliant piece! :yay:

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
Beregrew, you are correct, the elvish does say Galadriel.
Garmenhord, I can't believe I didn't think of this! Unfortunately since I used milliput to make the top layer I'm afraid it would be too much of a hassle to make it look like ground since that stuff is pretty solid. I may try painting it like you suggested, but I think it may be best to leave it as is for now.
Feanor, thanks for the suggestion, I did add some shading to them but for some reason didn't think to highlight them  I'll get to it when I can.

I haven't done much painting these last few weeks, but I did do some work on another diorama, and I added a tiny bit of freehand to Glorfindel.

I repainted the wood with black, which looks far, far better than the gray it was previously. I also swapped the wire tree for a pre-made one. I would've preferred a green one but I didn't have any, and the brown actually looks alright. I decided to swap out Glorfindel with the elvish banner bearer because I thought it fit him better, and I felt like the banner was competing with the tree.

For Christmas I got some rangers of the north, so you can expect to see some of those coming up.

Please let me know what you all think!
