Next up on the classic re-paints are the weathertop ringwraiths. Don't have a 'before' picture, but they were just drybrushed with some sort of grey. Bought these after work one Saturday in 2001. Trying for a hint of moonlight here. Finally got myself a designated dayglow lamp*. It's helping a lot with pushing the light and shadows in the right direction. These will be toned down a lot. May enter them into february competition unless I get something else done. C&C welcome, especially on a contrast to the blue for the deep shades. *(I say got - I mean I stole my sister-in-law's beautician's lamp) |

Nice Gene, i haven't seen a blue cloth before, it works well. I guess you are going to muddy them up a bit? |

It's just an undercoat really. I use quite transparent layers, going light to dark with shades - so they should end up dark with just a suggestion of moonlight coming from above. |

They could almost be the Twilight Wraiths, I don't know why but I would leave them like that, I love them ahaaa |

Thanks, but it's too late. I will have a proper twilight wraith coming up soon though. Just a quick snap here to show where I'm at. Not a great pic but you get the idea. |

Skipped all the way to the end for today's repaint - just a sneak peek for now. First done in 2004 - never liked them. Finally went all out with proper OSL. Hoping this counts as 'mordor' for the competition. C&C welcome Old New |

Cheers. Might have to take Sam's hair down a notch. Frodo face isn't great but it's a fugly model anyhow. |

Those look great. I really can tell they are close to Mt. Doom. The OSL and definitely the tone is working very well. |

What an awesome effect you've managed to create with these. You can almost feel the heat of Mount Doom reflecting off them! Very cool idea, pulled off perfectly. |

I love seeing unique ideas in this hobby more than I do good paint jobs......but you've mastered both. Awesome stuff. |
