Those all look great! I think Gimli is my favorite, but I also think you did an excellent job on all three of Legolas's faces. :yay:

Cheers PoW!

The Legolas & Gimli just won model of the week on the White Dwarf Facebook page. Nice surprise for a Friday morning :-)

Fabulous painting of many familiar minis!
I will wager that you prefer these mixed/varied selections over dozens of rank and file (every time I say that I remember the phrase from one of the Discworld novels where someone remarked that the rank was pretty rank to say the least-they were referring to the Ankh-Morpork City Watch)

Stunning work on all of them! :yay:
Gandalf mounted stand out the most I think, also because of the awesome pose.

@DMS - Those are awesome....the leather & cloth and the armour on all are so good, but one part that really makes all your Azog models so good to me is the paint work on the scars. You've really found the right mix of red, brown and is it grey maybe ? So many of the other Azog's that I've seen go with either red or bright red for the scars, and it just doesn't look quite right. Same thing with the scars on the White Warg, what you did is just perfect. Would love to know how you made them look so realistic while keeping them somewhat muted at the same time.

Again, just superb work on all of them...no surprise at all that your constantly busy/booked with commissions - all of your stuff that I've viewed are works of art

Please keep posting pics of all your work, it's a great inspiration to me to try to improve and I'm sure it is to countless others here on the site

What a lovely comment!

Thank you for taking the time to write that up it is really appreciated.
The scars on my azog jobs are indeed a mix of reds (VGC flat red & VMC burnt cad red) and Brown (VGC charred brown) the grey outline to the scars is VGC cold grey left from the Basecoat on the warg which acts as an outline to each scar.

Being booked solid for so long is defintely not something I ever imagined happening when I started on this commission painting adventure that's for sure.
I will continue posting pics of my work for as long as there is interest. I'm glad you find inspiration in what I do.

Fine work as always Kev and as usual the work on the bases elevates the miniatures that step further.

Glad to see regular updates return, despite their tendency to make me shameful of my own limited output.
Stunning stuff. For some reason, I especially like the brownish skull with the goblin - perfect colour for some bones that have been buried for a bit (don't ask).

Don't suppose there are plans to release casts of Mr. Dreary? Would be a fine addition to GW's range of ruffians (and I don't think they are about to release one themselves any time soon).

Thanks bud.
No plans to release Albert on the cards anytime soon I'm afraid. Shame as I would like one to lol

Wonderful stuff there, the "quick job" on the goblin is fantastic (love his eyes!).

Union Jack on the rivendell banner :yay:

Thanks Crixalis, the goblin himself I spent less than 2 hours working on whilst batch painting other models. The goblins base took longer than the goblin himself.

That Albert miniature is great, you've got the grubby feel spot on. Also the Elves... the Elves! :yay:

Mister Dreary - simply superb!
Elven cavalry: graceful and deadly, just how I like them!

I have to say that you are in a class by yourself. I find it difficult to believe that a human being can do any better than your work.
If I owned a hat, I would take it off to you.

U have been very busy! Nice painting overall. I like the light effects from the gob and shiney stone in the shield of the elves. The bases are worked out well like always. Top work!

Post subject:  Re: DMS - 24 Gundabads & Guard of the Galadhrim Court (NMM)

Thank you :)

Ok next up was the last batch of 24 Gundabad warriors. 96 gundabads now complete. I will post a full army pic once the commission is complete.

Next up is something quite exciting, for me anyway lol. As a full time commission painter I rarely get chance to paint anything for my own collection. This is about to change thanks to a fantastic idea from Randy Blood of Painting Middle Earth. A specific model from the GW Middle Earth range will be selected completely at random on a monthly basis from the unofficial collectors guide and we have that month to complete the paint job. Randy and I started this back in July with the Hobbit Goblin, pictures of which you can find earlier in this thread. We have called this monthly challenge "The Unexpected Journey" (TUJ). It has its own facebook group which you can join and participate here - Join the Unexpected Journey
Image

Augusts TUJ miniature selection was a Guard of the Galadhrim Court. I have managed to complete mine in time. I took the opportunity to practice with NMM so completed the model without the use of any metallic paints. More pictures can be found Shadows TUJ Index
Image

Septembers model has already been drawn and its not much fun I'm afraid. Its Eowyn from the Death of Gothmog vignette. I won't have time to complete the full diorama so will only paint the required section.

Thanks for looking.
