Post subject:  Mordor Scum WIP

Here is my final WIP (thus far) which includes some models, terrain etc. I've been working on.

Being a gamer as a second hobby, I've been enjoying The Shadow of Mordor lately. I decided to give it a try to paint some of my orcs and other Mordor scum.

I hope you enjoy this WIP as much I do! Be sure to check out my other WIPs too!
C&C welcome!

PS: pictures are darker than the models are in real life thanks to photobucket who decided not to save any of the changes I made on most pictures.

Shelob ready to be spraypainted

The Black Numenorean looks great, love the look of the ancient armour.

The dead WOMT look great on the bases! It makes the action really dynamic.

spiders... urggh.. I think I would be afraid of him if I had that model.

That troll however is looking marvelous. Takes me straight back to when the doors of MT are breached. Good job.

Thank you all, comments like these keep my spirit up! 8)
Not too much work on any general models, been busy with my Galadhrim knight for the painting challenge and spraying my models.
But I found some old interesting figures, partly painted, which I decided to finish after all these (probably) years!
Note: back then, I used rather thick paints, which can be seen on the shaman's skulls mostly. A wash was added on these, but the old paint put a thick layer over the details unfortunately.

Post subject:  Re: How to make an Orc Tent - With video!

It's been a long time since I posted on here, mostly I post my updates on the GBHL Facebook page, but a little while back I made an orc tent.

Now people who are in the Facebook group might know this one, but I decided to post it here too for those of you who haven't seen it.

The reason I do is because I also made a video on it for my Youtube channel, please note that the camera quality is rather.. horrible.. :(

I do hope it might help some of you out there, the materials I used were common, very easy to get and also really cheap!

Anyway, you can see the video here:

And some pictures to give you an idea:

Is that a Jarna CD cabinet from IKEA? Years ago, I posted an article on how to turn a Jarna cabinet into a display case for models.

Could it be that someone actually read it?

Great looking tent you got there! The colours are a little bright to my taste (I'd personally keep Orc tents black or very dark browns and grays), but I love the use of different materials! Makes it look ragged and improvised. 8)

I'm afraid to disappoint you, I have never been to an IKEA in my entire life!
The cabinet is from a local store in town.

I'm afraid painting them all won't be happening any time soon...
And yes, my Moria terrain.. it's a big project to work on myself and I work on it every now and then, cutting tiles and painting everything greyish starts to get annoying at a certain point haha.

Thanks a lot, glad you like it!
I wanted to go for dark colours too, but still keep some variation in it and not make it all one colour. I also added the red to kind of match up with the cloth on my orcs. I'm really pleased with how it turned out though :)

Guess who's back? Sauron's army's back!
Over the past few weeks I kind of fell for the charmes of the dark side of Middle-Earth and thus a lot of painting has happened! Here are some of the results:

Thanks for the comment mate, means a lot to me :)

Maybe one day I can wield these filthy creatures against you instead of my Dwarfs, then you get a chance ;)

Can't wait to do another battle with you. But unfortunatly my mini's are all stocked up at home in the kabinet. Don't want to move them around to much - since this is a rental home.
