Nice use of glazing to create the change in the fur, I also like the uhu use for the saliva but the bottom ne maybe slightly too much, still great though.

I get what you're trying to achieve with the eyes, but i think the paint looks a bit runny - to me the eyes look a bit blotchy. i also think the wounds look a bit bright and lurid, but maybe that just makes them look fresh. i'd say that's just a matter of opinion though.
i do like the snow on the bottom of the wolves' feet. it's so often that people forget small, realistic details like that. it's the kind of thing i don't realize i need until i see other people with it added.

The wounds at the front are intended to look bloody as if they have just been done, I don't know if you can tell but the wounds at the back of the wolf are just Bugman's Glow to indicate a more healed wound. I tried to add a bit of variation here as I felt the wounds were a good opportunity to add a bit more to the model.

Really like the Dreadnought. i have actually been trying to achieve something similar myself with Dark Angel insignias.

Has the dreadnought got a name? Like The Judge (Dreadnought)...
Nice glow effects - they really look like there is light coming from inside.

I've been looking at this a few times with the thought that something could be done to improve and I think it's pushing the extremes.
Try going darker with your shading and look toward some very bright highlighting on the very edges of the armour.
Some progressive glazing will sort the shading.
Here's a tip for the highlighting - white paint doesn't highlight well, it leaves a grainy effect. Use vallego model colour ivory instead, it applies much better and the colour difference isn't noticeable.
Would you believe they sell it in Boyes.

Post subject:  Re: Amy's WIP - Stormfang (10/9/14)

Photos of my finished Stormfang, not truly happy with this one as I don't feel it is as good as my other pieces. I think it may be because it was quite large, so might have stretched my abilities a bit too much. I think I'm going to go back to smaller models next to work on my skills I think :) or maybe it's me being a perfectionist? :P

Maybe a touch critical on yourself but aren't we all.
If anything I think this is a nice paint job but the figure needs weathering. Whether that be rust / battle damage or both.
Modelmates products are rated very highly for this type of work.
Follow the link and scroll down to the section on weathering.

I have done weathering on this, I think the photos don't pick it up or maybe it needs a bit more. I opted to go for the areas in which would weather most, like the front and edges rather than all over as I think less is more with weathering, not a fan of the over-weathered look, but I think difficult to tell in these photos. :)

Post subject:  Re: Amy's WIP - Blood Angels Terminators (22/12/14)

I've just got myself a new army for 40k, wanting to get into it more and play some games. I got the new Deathstorm box and the new Assault Terminators and Tactical Squad, plus the new Librarian in Terminator armour.

Tim had some Space Hulk arms lying around so we decided to convert the Deathstorm terminators to look more like Blood Angels.

I spent a whole day painting this guy, in the past for my Space Wolves I batch painted them and I think this one looks so much better for it. It may take longer but I think it looks a lot neater and better, I'm very pleased with it! What do you think? :)

Terminator looks great, much better for spending time at it.
Those eyes are something else :yay:
You have some nice glazing taking place like the plate covering his behind and shoulders.
I think you can push the contrast on future figures, depending on what standard you are aiming for, presuming you want to get better and better.
I would look to dark glazes down the back vents area to show a dark shadow at the bottom. This can also be applied to other recessed areas under the arms and where plates meet. I think this will stop the whole thing from looking too red, if you see what I mean.
I will check out your Durthu when I'm next in. Once Dean clears some stuff I might stick my troll diorama in.

Thanks for the tips! :)

Here is one I finished yesterday, I'm particularly happy about the claws which was achieved using a sponge technique, a lot faster to achieve than drawing the lightening lines that you usually see on them!

My local GW is doing a January hobby pledge, mine was to paint a unit of 5 Sanguinary Guard. Here are finished photos, I am extremely happy with them and think they're one of the best models I've painted :)
